I came from ESPEasy which I used for years now, then maybe two years ago, for some sonoffs S26 I switched to Tasmota. Meanwhile half of the Sonoffs are back to ESPEasy. For anything with more logic required than a simple Sonoff Plug, Tasmota is not the perfekt solution. ESPEasy is so much better toprogram, so much mor userfriendly. I am going to reflash all of them with ESPEasy.

Is one easier than the other to use with alexa?

I think Tasmota has a special feature so the device is recognized by Alexa automatically. But I never tried it.

For education purpose, which one would you suggest as a replacement of Legacy Blynk, which has been stopped?
@csongorvarga
@csongorvarga 2 года назад
Esp easy is a local solution, Blynj gives you access to your device from everywhere. And that is a big difference.
@HamzaHajeir
@HamzaHajeir 2 года назад
@@csongorvarga I see, for that purpose are you aware of an active replacement to Blynk?

you can build a more complex own automation system based on a Raspberry mini computer and MQTT, Nore-red server programs running on it. You can build your own web ui for that in Node-red and dashboard and access it by a web browser to monitor and control tasks. You can also install a wireguard vpn server on the raspberry and make a port forward on the router to able to access web ui from outside of internet. If you dont need a logic system you can control and monitor thru MQTT server alone either. There are existing MQTT UI apps for android for that.

@@smyle78 Thank you for this informative reply, it's great for sure to have owned implementation if there's one project. But for education purpose to newbies, I'm realling looking for Blynk alternative: easy configurable pins (via mobile app) and control, perhaps with libraries support as Blynk.

a question if there is no router it has autoconnect or I will have to disassemble the entire project just to make a new recording then I can not change the password of the router?
@csongorvarga

If they cannot connect to the router (because it is not working, or the password has changed), all these fall back to an access point mode where you can connect to the device directly in their own wifi and re-configure them.

Is espurna still active? That was a great framework when i used it back in the day. Actually I still have it installed on a rf 2 mqtt hub.

I looked it up … still active github.com/xoseperez/espurna

@@myounges To be honest, I am not sure why I abandoned espurna. As far as I can remember, I did not find anything special which was not already available in ESP Easy or Tasmota. So I just kept using those.

I tried Tasmota with Sonoff switch I installed it using Tasmotizer that worked ok but only stayed working for two weeks then failed to connect to WiFi so removed it and then installed again with the same result its just not reliable

Maybe it is a hardware issue. I have a few tasmota devices running OK for years now. But it is hard to tell.
