I have been using the Internet since the mid 90"s and to say you are the best customer service is an under statement. I really like to videos for presentation and information. One suggestion is to hold the product info for the entire discussion. I had to pause and search to get what I wanted. Thanks a bunch

Same here! I've done a ton of interviews over Skype and hoping to be able to leverage them into a podcast... of course audio quality of the interviews won't be amazing, but my intro/outro would still be much better audio.

We used a lavalier microphone for this video, but for podcasts we used dynamic microphones like the Samson Q2U of the Shure SM7B

I am looking for a microphone that I can use for when I am running a webinar/mini online conference and zoom meetings and thought a lavalier might fit, are you able to let me know which mic you were using/recommend one?

Hi there, What mixer would you recommend for a podcast with two hosts and a guest, i.e 3 microphones- am i right in thinking this focusrite mixer only takes two? Thank you!

First time hearing about SquadCast. What are your thoughts on Cleanfeed? They have a free option and I don’t believe it’s lossless but it’s still extremely high quality over internet!

Hey, great video. One thing I was wondering about is if you use zoom h6 and you have multiple ppl in the podcast say three or four, do you need external headphone amp?

Only if each person wants to monitor the sound. It's good enough to just have the host monitoring the audio quality, but you can certainly add a headphone amp to provide that to each person on the podcast

So question can I start with the mic and the headphones with my computer if it's me alone or do I need the (burgundy box ) forget the name. I know you mentioned if you are doing an interview use it. But if I'm alone?? Clarify please?

Yes, you can definitely start with just the mic and headphones on your computer if you’re podcasting alone. The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is particularly useful for interviews or if you have multiple audio sources. Happy podcasting! 😊

Hey first of all, thanks you very much for your tutorial!!! "I´m about to start my podcast" :D and I´m currently organizing the eq.... The thing is I´m from Germany and it´s somehow not possible to get the ATR2100 here in Europe. Whats your opinion on the AT2020USB+ this mic would cost me just 35 bucks more (compared to the ATR2100 incl. shipping) and I can get it here in Germany. Thanks for you thoughts! ;)

The AT2020 is a great microphone. Podcastage did a great review of it if you want to learn more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kA4RvltO9e0.html If you'd like to spend a bit less you should be able to find the Samson Q2U which is comparable to the 2100.

Are you able to record your microphone audio into your computer? You want to make sure the switch is turned to "ON" on the microphone

Very good and informative video. We only do "long distance recordings." Will Squarecast give us better audio quality than a Zoom call? We've been using both Call Recorder (Mac) over Skype (not ideal) and Zoom (recently) but we are looking to find something with an even better sound quality from both interviewer and interviewee. The problem is we want the best sound quality, but think we need to use a popular program that most regular people have access to (only Zoom and Skype fall in this category), and Squadcast might not be as easily accessible to all of our guests. Also with Zoom, you have the option to Export your interview as a .wav file (lossless), wouldn't that produce that same superior sound quality of Squadcast?

Squadcast is going to give you the best audio quality for long distance podcast recordings. Your guests don't need to install anything, they just click on the link you give them and the meeting opens up in their internet browser. The WAV file you get from Zoom is still compressed/processed, so you'll always get a better recording from Squadcast which is uncompressed

What type of compressed file is my original Zoom long distance podcast interview recorded to before exporting? (actually I just found out it is an mp4 file, not great).

@@Buzzsprout Is there currently a FREE service where we could record remote long distance recordings directly to a lossless .wav file before exporting? Zencastr alows you to record to a compressed mp3 (not ideal) for their Free service up to 8 hours per month, but they require that you to upgrade to premium for $20 per month to record in lossless .wav.

@@radjet If you don't want to spend any money, then the best option is to record a "double-ender." Use a free Zoom plan and have each participant record their audio locally in Audacity or GarageBand. Then have everyone send their exported WAV file to the editor using Google Drive (also free). It's a couple of extra steps, but will get you in-studio audio quality

@@Buzzsprout We don't want to use a "double-ender" because we don't want to inconvenience our guests to purchase a Zoom H6 or equivalent. Also our guests are not tech people or audio files, so we cannot expect them to record in Audacity. We want to keep it simple for them, and low maintenance, but we also want to record in a lossless file format (.wav or flac) without paying a premium.

Hey Ashley, some prefer wired headphones for zero latency. For wireless, just ensure they have low latency to avoid any audio syncing issues. To get the best quality sound possible (without an external recording device), "....you can use programs like Audacity (Mac and PC) to record your audio in the background while you conduct the online interview." This is from the Buzzsprout blog post (link below in comment). ***Question: Do you (interviewer) and your guest (interviewee) BOTH need to have Audacity installed and record to their own respective computers - or is it sufficient that YOU (interviewer) only need to have Audacity installed on your computer, where you would then record BOTH voices into YOUR Audacity program?***

You'll want both people to record in Audacity on their own respective computers. You can also use GarageBand if they have a Mac
