How To Pick The Right Paint Finish | What is Easiest to Clean 

We must be on the same wavelength! My contractor came in the day the home Reno guide came out and this came the day we needed to confirm paint!

My favorite finish is satin for the walls and semi or high gloss for trim. So much easier to clean with kids and dogs!

Semigloss with built in primer, has held up well on textured walls with kids and dogs. Sherwin Williams is our tried and true. We always splurge for the top of the line paint.

Heirloom Traditions paint! Built in primer, self leveling and built in top coat. Painted my oak cabinets white three years ago and look exactly the same today!

I usually buy Dulux paint (they give me a discount). Eggshell on the walls, semi-gloss on the trim.

I recently did my house with satin finish superpaint from Sherwin Williams and I'm pretty happy with it! I think it's a solid mid range paint.

I'm in Canada & my husband has tried lots of brands over the years. Now he only uses Cloverdale Paint.

My favourite mid-range brand is Premier Extra (one coat coverage - primer and paint) in their Satin finish from Canadian Tire. It just goes on nicely, covers well, and cleans well. Now to find a new colour for my bedroom...hmmmm

As I was growing up my parents used semi gloss in kitchens and bathrooms. Flat in bedrooms & living room. In USA. Renting now. I believe it's the same. Although the paint is cheaper. Comes off to the layer below when cleaning. WOW. I really enjoy watching you clean Sarah 😅

I always end up with visible streaks after it dries that shows each line I wiped down the wall. How do I prevent that from happening?

I like matte paint but I think it’s worth paying for aura.

We need a flat paint that is easier to clean. I just love the finish of flat paint on the walls, and I don’t think I can give it up 😂

My opinion: flat is the prettiest, chic-ish. Glossy paint looks cheap and commercial. Flat covers the most imperfections in your walls and gives them and cleaner look. Wish flat cleaned better!!!!

Do you have tips for getting smoke from candles off ceilings?

I bought such good quality paint in such an awful finish. $80/gal but “velvet” finish.. looks like garbage and when I wipe the walls it shows and leaves a film even with just water.
