My wife and I went through every step in your presentation at some point or another in the last 5 months. Excellent presentation, I wish you'd have done this 6 months ago haha. Learning it the "hard way" was absolutely the right way for us in the end, as it forced us to develop skills and techniques we may have neglected or not done otherwise, but it was an incredibly HUGE amount of work and effort. Your C2E2 build absolutely were the inspiration for us and we can't thank you enough for showing us through your videos that two regular folks can do this by themselves, in their basement and come out with costumes that are almost 501st ready, without even realizing it. Thanks Robyn, you're awesome and we literally wouldn't have gotten them done otherwise. Cheers!
Oh man, that's kind of hilarious (and validating!!) that you went through the same process without my presentation. Sometimes it feels like SO MUCH WORK upfront but over the years it's just been what works best for me. I am so happy to hear you had a good experience building your costumes too, even while learning the hard way, cause boy if that isn't how 99% of my stuff came about as well lol. Will you be at C2E2 this year? We last minute decided to make the trek back out there in August!
Oh, also the fact that you were willing to reach out and respond to my insta questions was life changing in that it shows how good people are still out there, willing to help, push, nudge, encourage and validate your efforts. 👍😇
Omg i went to fanexpo in my city today and met a lot of 501st legion people. Ive been wanting to join as bo katan for a looong time but had no idea where to start. U have no idea how thankful I am for your breakdown and help, you are extremely kind and thank you so much!
thank you SO much!! I really love talking about the planning/research phase of costumes so I'm glad the breakdown helped out. I will have a lot of Bo tutorials coming soon too (I am just not 501st approved) but hopefully those will help as well

Seeing your page and hearing how open you are about sharing knowledge has been immensely helpful! I had hoped you would upload this because I knew it would really help me learn how to approach future projects as I also have ADHD that can make things overwhelming at times. This makes me very excited to get planning my own project!
oh my heart ... thank you for this comment! you are NOT alone in the ADHD stuff making things overwhelming (it's funny cause a lot of my planning process comes across as ... so much! what do!) but if I don't get this planning out of the way, I just genuinely will not start. It really helps, especially if I'm having a good brain day, to get all the planning out of the way so I can let my chaos run free with making :)
