I did a lot of research before my trip to Disneyland last year. The one thing I found that definitely helped me was with regards to California Adventure, specifically Radiator Springs Racers. Get to the park before opening and as soon as the rope drops, go straight to get yourself a FastPass for Radiator Springs Racers, then immediately go and get in the queue for the ride. That way you are already guaranteed two rides on it early in the day :)

This is so SPOT ON I love it! The only thing is the Disneyland resort express doesn't stop at every single good neighbor because it actually is too big for some of their driveways and if people book directly through Disney the cost is a lot less. Can't wait for the WDW one!

For the Grayline buses/shuttles that Disney endorses, you can also get a round-trip ticket (to your hotel and then back to LAX) for about $48 which really isn't all that bad since other services might charge you around that just to get there! I don't like driving when I vacation by myself and it was a really great option to have this past February when I went. Took the free shuttle from the LAX airport I was at, got picked up by the Grayline bus, got to my hotel, and took the ART bus (which I'm surprised you didn't mention!) to the parks. It takes a bit of time, but it works pretty well for someone who might not want to deal with driving. The only thing is is that you've got to look at their schedule and where they make stops. I don't think they stop at just any hotel- only the ones on their list. But if your hotel is nearby then you'd probably be pretty good! Yeah the ART buses are pretty great too if you're not staying on Disney property or within walkable distance to the parks. If you go on their website, you can find the closest stop to the hotel you're at (sometimes right at the hotel- I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort this year and it's literally right outside their lobby) and the bus will take you to the parks! I think it's about $3/day too which is a good price. And they run for a bit after close so if you want to stay late then you can.
@iluvallenandcraig

Your example about the Matterhorn being closed for refurbishments is literally what happened to me! I went to Disneyland for my 21st birthday about 2 years ago, and I didn't check the website, so I was so disappointed when I arrived and it (along with all of Critter Country) was closed! Knowing wouldn't have made much a a difference though; I across the country and was working around my college schedule so I could only go at that time.

Disneyland recently added portable charging stations. I know there's one in tomorrowland. You pay $30 and you get a portable charger and I believe it comes with the cords too. And when that one dies you can take it back and get a new one. And you can take them home as well and use them even when you're not at Disneyland.

Agree with everything you mentioned! I find that John Wayne Airport is easiest to fly into because it's smaller and less busy than LAX (if your trip offers flights into there) and supershuttle is usually pretty affordable option to get to your hotel. I book online ahead of time. if you use chrome the extension called honey inputs coupon codes and I've gotten cheaper shuttle rides that way :) I went with my fiance and it was 40-50 bucks for both of us round trip for the shuttle ride. It's a shared van so you ride with other people but most of the time everyone else in the van is also going to Disneyland so it's usually not a detour from your destination. also incognito browser is your friend when browsing hotels, they will increase prices if they can track multiple page visits. ahh this makes me want to back to Disneyland so bad! I hope you do a WDW one someday, I've never been but would love to know all your tips for that! I love your travel vids Tiff!

I took a super shuttle from a Disneyland hotel to LAX last year and it was under $20! You have to do the shared van one for that low price though. It's also super easy to find 5-10% off coupon codes for super shuttle.

From a seasoned traveler to Disneyland: On buses: The supershuttle and other options can cost as low at $20 per a person (one way) and some have children ride free (as does the Disney express). The Disney express has bathrooms on the back of the bus, and has television usually playing Disney movies. HOWEVER most bus/shuttle services have a vehicle arriving for pickup every 15 minutes, and the Disney Express only arrives once per an hour. While the Disney express was great for an experience point of view, we've decided that taking a shuttle is our preference because we've had to wait 1.5 hours for the Disney Express to show up before. With the shuttle we waited about 10 minutes, and the riders only needed three stops, so they happened very quickly.

Make sure that you check out all the menus on the website to pick your must have meals and treats! This saves time!!! The menus are also available on the app. This is also helpful for those with restrictions. However most places can accommodate for your restrictions.
@melissajuarez2893
@melissajuarez2893 7 лет назад
Another tip: Book on hotels.com or Groupon! You can get some pretty good deals. Most hotels have shuttles to and from the park too!
@sarahgent2674
@sarahgent2674 7 лет назад
Another thing is, even if your online menu says there's not much you can eat because of dietary restrictions, you usually can get more than it says. If you filter the food on the app, then basically the only vegetarian food you could get would be fruit or popcorn. However, most places have at least one and usually more vegetarian and/or vegan options and, often non-advertised accommodations too e.g. Redd Rocket's Pizza Port do vegan pizza but they don't say they do so you have to ask and it takes a while. Same for gluten free. Most places may not advertise it but they have gluten free versions of whatever they make (which oftentimes is also vegan because then they don't have to make two separate special meals) and you can get it if you ask. Though again it might take a while.

Hey tiff.. I was hoping you could help me out. So, can you only have one fastpass at a time total, or one fastpass per ride at a time? Also, what would you say are the best pin trading spots? Would you reccomend the single riders line to a family of four for radiator, splash, or other rides like that? We are going the 3rd and 4th of January, so I would love if you could answer some of these questions. My family went a lot (like 12 times in 11 years) before 2014 but then it got too expensive so we haven't gone since. Just want to make sure I'm updated with rides and other events. Respond asap. Thanks tiff!! (Also tell me if the thingamavlogs crew will be at disneyland then and if I can meet you because you guys are amazing!!!)

Thanks for the video! My husband and I are going in January 2018 and as an AP I would love to hear from YOU what you think about a few things. 1. After booking our trip I learned that the parks close early (8pm) the whole time we are there. In the past I've always been there when the park is open until at least 10pm. Do you think this is something that we should reschedule our trip over? Disneyland at night is my absolute favorite and so I am just worried that we won't get the most out of our time there. Am I too worried about it? 2. Do they do fireworks in early January? 3. In this video, you said that February is the best time to be there as far as the crowds go. From your experience, is January any better or worse? The same? Sorry for all the questions, I would just love to hear from someone who has spent a lot of time at the park and knows how it really is! Thank you for the helpful videos!! xo

Katja K As a local, I would recommend staying most of the day in Disneyland and only part of the day in California Adventure. Usually for me, I go to California Adventure and go on my favorite rides, such as California Screaming, Cars, and the Toy Story Blasters, then I go over to Disneyland. Usually, people go to Disneyland first, so California Adventure lines are much shorter than later in the day. This is just a little tidbit of my usual days there, so I hope I helped!

How long do you recommend going to Disneyland if you've never been there before, and you want to see it all? :)
