hmmm ... I think you may like Sompo Museum in Shinjuku ... it is tiny but has really good exhibits like Van Gogh ... my dream is to go to Tokyo Takurazuka this Summer, ... the actresses are so elegant and beautiful !!!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy hmmm ... lately there is mobile mosque for muslim tourists ... I saw there truck there last December ... so many Indonesian tourists in Japan now, it is really nice !
I’ll be there in some of those days, too! Though, not my first time, I totally got you, because things have has changed so much in the last five years, I still get those butterflies planning for my trip, too.
This channel is a real goldmine! Planning my family trip, I'm always looking for good tips to avoid the crowds and arrived well prepared. Thanks so much. Cheers from France!
Thank you Nathan for this well crafted video! My favourite bases in Tokyo are Tokyo Station and Shinagawa. I usually do not change hotels when staying within Tokyo except when staying in Odaiba.
Thank you for this video!! Added tips, for those planning - do check out the opening & closing times of the places in your itinerary. Also, do check the weather too. Buffer in timings where you may get a little lost or need to detour which in my experiences are the best time to discover new gems actually!!!
14 day itinerary for Tokyo visit a different District per day and for the last 2 days maybe visit revisit your favorite spots that you encountered as you purchase last minute souvenirs I say 2 days before you leave because you never know if a souvenir shop is closed that you liked maybe make it 3 days before you leave just to play an extra safe
Good advice on the observation views. Carrot Tower is a good choice and never hear many talk about Mori Tower or the Shinjuku Govt. Bldg. Get a view out of the central area.
Thanks I have taken much info from all your videos as I am gonna be over for 3 weeks in may this year (staying in tokyo only for my first visit of japan as the city interests me really much and is so big I don't want to cut my time there short, as I will be most certain I will visit Japan and different regions in the future over and over). Your videos are some of the best for learning stuff to look out for and planning the trip as you go into much detail to so many unexpected things one may face, which other channels do less so.
Thanks so much for your vote of confidence. I really do try to make it easy to understand but with so much to explain I worry I might make it too complicated!
Have a 15 day trip planned for cherry blossom season this year When I went last year ikebukuro was starting to become the new akihabara with more game stores and anime shops opening up there
Been there in August as well and damn that was a hell of a summer. Japan is always pretty hot during the summer but last year it was a record heat and yeah I've definitely noticed the record heat. Never going in august again, lesson learned 😄
There are some really great planning planning tips in this video. Course you didn't allow for getting lost (maybe that's only a me thing), I'll be taking advantage of your Klook link that is a certainty. I've been advised by another friend to do the skytree, and I want to do the monthly astronomical event a shibuya sky. A friend of ours made sure I already saw a panda at Ueno Zoo.
Thanks Ninja I am OBSESSED with your videos and love it all! Im here 2 weeks end March into April! Do you ever stay hostels any any to suggest in central Tokyo? In Japan I prefer over hotel cause I don’t like feeling alone 🥹
I totally understand some people wanting to stay in hostels.. I prefer having my own bathroom and a safer environment for my kit so I never stay in Hostels :(
Visiting Japan for the first time at the start of April for 3 weeks, so hopefully catch the cherry blossom at the perfect time. What should the temperatures be in early April? 🏴🇯🇵
This video and more of yours on accommodations are gold. Thanks for the detailed description. We are a group of 4 families w kids, arriving SFO-NRT-SFO on July 3-14. If we are visit different places what place do you suggest starting with ? Does staying in Kyoto first visiting Hiroshima, Nara Osaka for 5 days n then come back to Tokyo and spend the rest of the days n get to NRT ? Or do the other way around.
Hi, please recommend where to stay in Ueno or in Taito City for budget hotels for 3 nights or airbnb for 3 adults and 1 baby. We plan to go on April 19. Thank you.

I will arrive March 25 -April 18, im a world traveler 51 countries so far, for some reason this trip to Japan has me nervous and anxious, im not sure why.😊😊😊😊
Helpful information. We are flying stand by next month and can’t make any reservations in advance :( any recommendations on transportation from Haneda to any point in Tokyo? Appreciate your help. Thanks!
Hello, how are you? I would like to thank you for this and all the other videos I've seen. I've found them very clear, and instructive for my future 1st ever visit to Japan in March 2024. AS a matter of fact I definitely want to visit Sunamachi Ginza, as you recommended in one of your videos. If you will be in Japan between March 14 and April 10 I would love to have a Sake with. What is your channel in Spanish? Again, thank you
Then I owe you a sake, or two.....I will be staying @ APA Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Eki Tower, and will have to do my homework with train stations and such as you suggested in this video. @@NinjaMonkeyguy
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Hello again good Sir. I have a question, I've heard different information regarding the JR pass. On one hand, that it mailed to my physical address, on the other hand, that I will receive it by email and with that print out I can activate once I land in Japan. I don't think I have enough time to have it mailed as my mailing address is in Bogota. Please help. Thank you
Do you happen to have a video for fans of sumo? I am going there in May to train and would like to see as much as I can in Tokyo related to sumo. Other than an actual grand tournament.
@@NinjaMonkeyguy I actually compete in sumo in America(Nashville, Tennessee) and teach every so often. I just want to take my sumo to the next level. I will definitely look forward to see you cover more sumo stuff in the future!
@@zachsparkman5252 Wow thats pretty cool! Always looking for people to chat with about topics I dont know too much about and you seem like a Sumo expert 😉
@@NinjaMonkeyguy I’m wrapping up a 3 week vacation and I am astonished how rude the people are in Tokyo and Osaka. Do they realize I came here to spend money? How about showing some fucking respect for the dollars I’m dropping.
I believe the tickets come out 2-3 months before so I suggest you book ASAP.. Here is my Klook Affiliate link if you want to use it :) affiliate.klook.com/redirect?aid=53954&aff_adid=812132&k_site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.klook.com%2F
Thanks for the video! My sister and I are going to Japan from 24rd of oktober till 4th of december (6 weeks) start and end from Tokyo. Do you maybe have some suggestions on what we definitly shouldn't miss from the north part of Japan (excluded Hokkaido)?
As you can tell from my ID,... Lake Towada is so beautiful, and next to it is Oirase Gorge. I have lots of good family memories visiting Matsushima too. The usual saying is that Akita women are the most beautiful but I've never been there ...
Tohoku is great, Certainly There are some nice towns and cities up there like Aomori, Morioka (Voted best city NYT last year) and Sendai makes for a good spot. Yamadera is amazing too!
I travelled all around the world and didn't need to plan at all. Tokyo is different. There are so many specific things I want to experience that I made a detailed plan to manage to cram everything in 8 days.
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Oh, I'm going in a few days, on Wednesday :) I wish I could send you a link to my spreadsheet to brag about my organizing skills, but RU-vid won't allow it :D We're there for 7 nights.
I sometimes use booking.Com Expedia or even my affiliate with klook which you can find here: affiliate.klook.com/redirect?aid=53954&aff_adid=812132&k_site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.klook.com%2F I simply choose the best option and try to go for free accommodation
hey nathan, i will be travelling to japan in 2,5 weeks. but how much tourism is it now? i heard that its never been so much tourism as right now because of the weak yen.
Hi ninja I got JR pass but the more I investigate the more it might not be worth it. Please help! Arrive have spend night at Shibuya going to Osaka 2 days Kyoto 2 days Kanazawa 1 day and 3 nights at shinjuu in that order and some how I want to go o. One of the last 3 days to kawaguchiko. What passes should I get??
In my itinerary I am considering the distances and times that Google Maps tells me to take transportation. But how much additional time should I consider when purchasing a ticket or reloading an IC card before boarding any transport?
hmmm ... I shop for all my clothing in Ginza but I think Tokyo is utterly decadent with too many prostitutes ...I cherish Mitaka because Dazai Osamu ended his life there ... I hate JDF but still, Ichigayadai is actually really interesting ... but people there are not nice to me ...
