It is interesting to talk about aging population and inflation, however we could end up in deflation in an aging society. Dropping in demand of goods since working adults are shrinking and people of golden age tend to spend less. Countries with aging population will likely to experience stagnant in economy growth ..

My own personal experience when you hit mid/late 30's, most of your money should be in investments generating 8% - 10%. You need to balance safety and returns.

I don't think anybody eat RM100 a day...not even for us young people..😆😆😆. For old people, they don't eat much...my mom, she has lots of money, but she prefers to eat modestly. A bread cicah with kopi in the morning, a good lunch, and dinner just rice with banana..

The main expenses for the elderly is diet (they may need special diet) and medication. And for some elderly, they may also need helpers too.

Exactly....this discussion is just waste of time la.. according to your calculation 10k salary at age 35 per month only having 2.xmil and you are talking about 5-7mil for retirement is needed to live a "sad" live. If your audience listening to your advise they better lying flat. How many Malaysian can achieve 7mil. Need 7mil to live a sad live is ridiculous, assume u have 2.5mil in EPF with 5% div you will have 125k per year (10 416 per month) to spend. You better have other discussion like how do we plan for migration/ moving our asset oversea, how to survive in the country that getting conservative and religious , should we stay at Malaysia as the country getting hopeless mess-up by all the selfish politician. When there is no future in our country there is no point to discuss about retirement. The money and asset continue depreciate, stagnant income. PS: From the comment we already can see how much tension among races caused by the government "typical type b reply" > come on la Malaysian are suffering caused by the politician not cause by either type b type c type i or any types ..... If we Malaysian never unite those politician will continue manipulating us they are the one that benefit and getting rich we Malaysian citizen are the one who continue suffer.

@@user-oz9zn3sn8d, chill bro. What they said is CORRECT. The solution are 1. Make your you have investment 2. Make sure you have passive income. Investment may or may not be the same as passive income. And who say you have to stop working upon retirement? Even with today's technology (and it will be even more advance in the future), we all can work for some side income if we want to.

Thank you Peter and Frankie for the very insightful sharing! Can you share something about old people/ parents insurance next time? Because I need to continue to pay for my parents insurance after they retired, it is a bit burden for me now because I need to pay for them and myself and the insurance price keep increasing every year due to inflation. Any suggestion on how to choose a more budget or appropriate insurance for parents?

if 3400 not enough for retired couple (house paid off), how are working couples with small kids coping with the same amount?

peter, 5 years before retirement I think we should stop investing, old ppl have no room to fail and risk is too high if market down or worse case get scammed. Sad to say, so many retirees loss all their *investments and they cannot recover from it. I don't agree they should take our , for example rm300k and do something else. A retiree just lost rm5 mill from scam and im sure he/she is now stuck.

@@leealex24 Actually I’m doing it now, oat for breakfast, lunch and dinner bought from restaurant. Total around RM30, oat is cheap less than rm20 enough for 1 month. Medical insurance rm220 and life insurance rm150. Some more can dine out weekly. However if you want to live a very comfortable retirement life like travelling around the world, it is surely not enough.

35 years old can earn 10k? 😂😂
@eugp4198
@eugp4198 23 дня назад
It is not a question of possible or not but rather are you capable or not.. depending on the value of your skill set to the market place, if you can help your company to earn more, you can even demand for 20k. DiGi used to have a CEO who is only 35 years old.
