If the camera was focused closer to what you are doing so we can actually see how to plant the bareroot would help a lot.

Lovely video, can’t wait to plant my peonies I just ordered :) I think ‘Itoh’ is actually the name of the man who originally hybridised them- he died before he ever got to see them bloom

If I get the chance to plant the peonies only around 10 December and it is already cold during nights (3-4 Celsius), can I still plant them and cover with mulch may be( for protection)?

I planted 5 peony bulbs on Jan 4th. Its currently 4°c during the day and -3°C at night. I put them in pots inside a unheated greenhouse.

I ordered a load of bulbs and didn't realise I'd somehow ordered a peony. I've just found it at the bottom of the bag of stuff I've been sorting through. It's been about two months now so I'm guessing it just needs to go in the bin?

I have a similar problem. I haven't planted 4 Peonies (and a couple hundred bulbs!!) that were delivered 3 weeks ago. I got sick and the holidays got in the way of it. I think before throwing the peonies away I might would put them in the ground and give a little TLC anyway just to see what happens. I have no experience but I've read they're pretty hardy and they love cold weather. I planted 6 or 8 Rose of Sharon Hibiscus trees this week that were dug up last spring and summer but they were still living. I think I'm going to plant my Itoh peony in a pot for now and hope for the best. If you haven't tossed them in the trash yet, good luck with your peonies. They might just surprise you! 🙂

Goodness! While I love birdsong and admire the habitat that has them so vocal, it was nearly louder than her voice and quite sharp. I couldn't get thru more than a minute of it.

This is a good video but i out mine in the ground last year in March but still have had no flowers... i have put around 15 bare roots but just leaves... i have followed everything that this video says to do but not sure what’s happening. 😢😢

March? It quite clearly says Sept/Oct. You answered you're own question..

It can take 2-3 yrs to see blooms. The root she's showing already has buds, which isn't typical.

Yeah this is Jane from Pennsylvania it looks like you planted that Penny way too deep you might get some foliage but you're not going to get flowers you better check on the death of that thing okay I have 30 gardens at memorial Park I've been doing for about 18 years so I think I know what I'm talking about I got a whole bunch coming in this year too okay talk to you later bye
