I played 18 for the first time this season on Saturday AM and literally spent the rest of the weekend watching sidekick and golf psychology videos. I can't wait to mash driver every hole next round. golf is love. golf is life.

Loving the series Matty Cakes! What this is showing me ONCE AGAIN CUZ I'M AN EGO MANIAC GOLFER is to swing easy on drives, like I do with a 7 iron. I get driver and turn in to the hulk and make errors. Just get it in play, let the rest of my game take over. Keep up the great work.

Dear Matty, from Argentina thank you for your vids, you totally changed my mind on how to approach the game and play it with a lower level of frustration and better strategy management. I call you an outfluencer, instead of influencer, as you make me think out of the ordinary. In the past (two decades ago) that was also called "lateral thinking" and your lessons perfectly fit in that theory, yours is lateral golf. I'm 55 and traying to improve my game step by step. Thanks! I,m a stable 22 hcp player. I can play well with all of my clubs 70% of the time. I can see now that I very often make bad decisions and choices. This gets even worse after the bad shots. Example: Long par 3s are the worst. Why try to hit a wood 200 yards and fail when I can hit a 7 iron short and try to chip it close? I never do that but I will start now. Thanks again! (Hopefully 18 hcp soon)

For someone starting out on a limited budget... if you have to choose between a handheld range finder and a portable launch monitor, which one comes first? Love the content!!!!!

Neither. I would probably recommend a gps watch. One that gives you yardages and can track your shots. That way you can get a real world idea of your distances.

Hard to find. All the Woods and hybrids were second hand from overseas on eBay. Very pricey. I’ll probably get that 7 wood though - was waiting to see if i would be any good at this

Drop the ‘i lack consistency’ thought altogether. You just lack a system. Then you have consistency. You’re system and process will help you be more committed and select better shots in the moment.

When’s the last time you went to the range and practiced just seeing how to make your clubs fly straight? Like if hitting full speed is giving you duffs, then what do you have to do to get it to fly? A half swing? A putter stroke? What does it take to get one to fly reasonably predictably?
