excellent video, thanks a lot. imho while going through stats for the individual units it would be extra helpful if you could post the data card on screen as you are reading it. I'm sure you have thought about it but it is on my wishlist for future videos. keep up the good work! :)
For Trajann fighting something he can't kill, something like a Knight charging in or a unit of 10 terminators with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields. Something that he cannot survive in melee with his regular saves and cannot kill in combat. Edit I forgot, for the 10 Terminators with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields, they can be joined by a Captain in Terminator Armor, this captain gives a free Stratagem such as "Only in Death dues duty end" which means even in death all those Terminators are hitting Trajan, that is if the Captain also has a Thunder Hammer, 35 Strength 8 AP-2 Damage 2 attacks.
Come on Costello, I don't call the High Lord of Terra & Captain General of the Adeptus Custodes T-Dog, that's just disrespectful. Obviously it's T-Diddy!
Question, if you choose the martial ka’tah for sustained hits 1 and the blade champion uses sword profile for sustained hits 1- does it just change to sustained hits 2? Or does it not stack?
All keywords don't stack. If you have sustained hits from two sources, you choose which one you want to use. Same if you were able to get Anti-Infantry 5+ and Anti-Infantry 4+, or if you could get Rapid-Fire 1 and Rapid-Fire 2.
Are you going to do a video on how to play new codex custodes? People keep saying they need to play cagier, but, depending on terrain usually I find myself either cagily attacking the opponents and sacrificing too many turns or running to the points and dying to shooting immediately.
Worth pointing out that Trajan's unit ability to ignore modifiers includes negating minus 1 damage and also halving damage. In addition, the units OC cannot be modified including if you fail battle shock.
@@gratka8301Are you talking about whether him ignoring modifiers happens to count toward "negate minus 1 damage" and "halve damage"? because the way his ability is written, it seems like only the usual saving throw modifiers are excluded from his ability. Is there some discourse around this? (being very genuine here. i am VERY new to this game - as in I've played like 3 small games in the last couple months at home with my partner)
@@SSJKenpachiZaraki usually it is played like he ignores these BUT it is not written anywhere that weapons in datasheets counts as "unit statistics" so as damage etc. Most PROPABLY trajan ignores everything but enemy AP but to be absolutely sure we need to wait for FAQ.
@@VanguardTactics Thank you, and again really enjoy your series and everyone working on the videos. They are top-notch! Wish I had people around me that wanted/could play as much as you guys and are just fun to hang out with [From what your videos make everything look]
@@seanabel8247 Thank you man, we really appreciate that, we are very fortunate to have a group of us who love the hobby and are great to be around (in my humble opinion lol), do you have a local gaming club?
@VT_Jord I have a small group of friends that play rpgs and I have gotten some of them to play 40k. But with the busy lives everyone has and the distance we all live from each other it just makes 40k difficult. There are several game stores around me but none that really host regular games. One of the stores is the worst type of players. They are always playing the cheesiest armies, only out to win, never really friendly players and not welcoming to new people. The worst part is they don't even play tournaments bc they're afraid to be crushed!
I would love an update or just a tips video on custodes because they seem really weak right now. I don't know what to do and just get bodied every game.
Mate once Steve is finally back in the country we shall get it scheduled for you! He will have more knowledge on the army too as he is taking them to LSO ✌🏼
At 26:55 you are discussing strategic mastery. Why do you say if you force a captain to use the stratagem first the other captain could not use it. If a unit charges, for instance, only one group with a shield captain, that captain should be able to use strategic mastery and the fight first for 0 CP. Does the sequence of paying CP for fight first and using strategic mastery matter?
You can only use a stratagem once per phase. The Shield-Captain's Strategic Mastery ability lets them ignore this restriction, but only for their unit. When a stratagem is used on them, it still counts as that stratagem having been played. If you use the stratagem for free first, you have used the stratagem in that phase, and you have used the Strategic Mastery ability for that battle round. Which means the stratagem cannot be used on anyone else. If you spend the CP to use it on a unit which does not have strategic mastery first, your units with Strategic Mastery are still available. And can thus use the stratagem again for free.
Lets talk about how opressive eldar are. No one talks about this army i think its the best one in the game, We even saw it in Tacoma 2x custodes in the finals. playing my friend that has custodes, i got no game into him with my eldar. He prefers taking mortals to regular saves even :D
That is actually incorrect, the ability states: "while this model is leading a unit, you can ignore any or all modifiers to characteristics for models in that unit and/or to any roll or test made for models in that unit (excluding modifiers to saving throws)" So it does include modifiers like -1 to hit or wound.
