RULES:
The rules are the same as regular chess except for these changes. During setup replace pawns, from left to right as so: Tower, Squire, Cleric, Princess, Princess, Cleric, Squire, Tower. All the new pieces promote when reaching the farthest row.
The tower moves and captures 1 space forward, backwards, left, or right. The tower promotes to the Rook. The squire is has the forward movement of a knight like so. The squire promotes to a knight. The cleric moves and captures 1 space diagonally. The cleric promotes to a bishop. The princess moves and captures 1 square in any direction. The princess promotes to a queen.
The first player to checkmate their opponent, wins.

Very cool but there's need a couple of changes 1. Replace one of the PRINCESS to PRINCE pic. so the game should be balance if there KING promotion. 2. Make ALL PICESE(pawn) perform thier initial double step move option. En Passant is allowed like normal

Despite being pawn replacement pieces, princess seems a bit too OP. That's just a non royal king, and it is worth 3.5~4 points, well above minor pieces because 1 princess and 1 king can checkmate a lone king(without promoting)

Plus having two princesses at the beginning means having fairly easy moves to advance with and therefore two almost sure potential queens

I would be in favor of replacing one of them with a “prince” piece who can move one space forward (vertically or diagonally), and promotes to a backup king. Alternatively, replace both princesses with normal pawns.

Bro, i made a variant this like 6 months ago! I called it "set premotion chess" Towe r= builder: 1 space orthagonally exept backwards Squire: same. Claric = fallower: 1 space foward orthagonally or diaganally. Princess: combine builder and fallower. Prince: same moves as princess. Premotes to the king to be. King to be: if your king gets checkmated, replace this piece with a new king. Additionally, for your move, replace this piece with your already existing king. I was still thinking on the pawn-pieces should be allowed a double steep move opton as we an en passant, but i eventually forgot about it entirelly. Untilnow. Any-how, this version seams much more refined then mine.

Double advanced chess is all non kings start off as pawns then promote to the first level then return to promote to their final forms. (A limit on the piece number per side exists with only 2 princes at a time, two princesses at a time, 4 squires, 4 monks, 4 proto rocks, 2 knights, 2 bishops, 1 queen, 1 king, 2 rocks.).

Squire seems overly restricted. Surely it should be allowed to use the moves that only advance it by one row rather than being forced to advance two. Also, since the squire is still forced to advance (like pawns), why don't the other pieces share this feature? Towers and princesses should only be able to move forward or sideways. Clerics would only be able to move forward diagonally, though that could be limiting them too much, so they might keep their backwards moves.

You can always add or remove rules and call it ¨house rules¨ pal. I agree with you about that, the Squire should have 4 movement options like the Tower and Clerk.

I don't like that the Princess can move backwards and to the sides. It feels a bit too good compared to the other pieces, even more than the regular Queen does to its counterparts Moreover, I don't like how the Squire is limited to just the 2 movement options. It should be able to advance forward in the other 2 ways as well. Otherwise, it's going to be a bit boring to play

@@danielyuan9862 I understand that the squire (that type of knight) cannot go there because of the rule, but why? The squire is weaker than tower and cleric because they can control 4 squares while the squire can control only two.

Imagine Super-Advanced Chess, where you use these pieces AND the Pawns on the 3rd Row, with the Pawns Promoting to any of the Lower Tier Pieces, before the others promoting if they return to their own row.

The squire is too weak. It should be allowed to use the forward sideways L-shape moves too.
