In case people are confused, the "end of support" means no more new stuff, but the game is still playable. An example would be the console versions of CS:GO. It didn't get any support after launch, so it stayed as the old version of CS:GO that you can play. It is different than the closing/shutting down of servers like the PS3 version where you can no longer play online anymore unlike the 360 version that is still playable online (and is playable on One and Series).
It's not different from the PS3 version at all. They shut down the CSGO servers weeks ago. Only way to play "online" is on servers of people who still have the CS:GO dedicated server files from before Valve deleted them off Steam.
@@german_novotiable I know, I explicitly mentioned that if you have the dedicated server files from before to run community servers (like those people hosting those servers do), then you can play on their servers. But the original comment makes it sound like you can play on first-party (Valve) servers like you apparently can still do on Xbox with Microsoft's first-party servers. That just isn't the case here whatsoever.
What no one realized is that he's drawing an alternate ending for the movie Interstellar where Cooper and his team finds the whatever fast time travelling planet to be habitable, instead of just pure water. You can even see TARS and CASE playing in the water.
can't wait until 8 years later when a cs2 youtuber makes a video called "PLAYING THE LEGACY VERSION OF COUNTER-STRIKE 2 (GLOBAL OFFENSIVE)" and all of the comments are us being all nostalgic and shit
I saw a tutorial for this a while back and I'm very glad it's still an option. Most of my time playing CSGO was just playing against bots on workshop maps while I had some video playing in the background; losing access to all those workshop maps was devastating at the CS2 release, but I'm happy they haven't been completely lost to time.
@@Like-Dennis support =/= keeping existing old game end support means skins, ranks, official servers, etc. will stop but community servers for example will still exist, like CS 1.6 or CS:S
The one thing I love about your tutorials is that you consistently never go "hey guys today we're going to *reads title*" followed by a minute of rambling about nothing. You have the most consistent and highest quality tutorials, all the way back from your Source SDK tuts. 🤓😏😁
"This is the legacy version of CS:GO - Support for it will end in January 1, 2024", I wonder if there will still be a possibility to play CS:GO after that date has passed.
you'll be able to play community, it's just that there will be no game coordinator "After January 1, 2024 the game will still be available, but certain functionality that relies on compatibility with the Game Coordinator (e.g., access to inventory) may degrade and/or fail."
I hope the full version of the music that played during the ms paint segment releases to the public sometime soon because i enjoy hearing it alot in your videos.
This version of Crossing Those Islands has, to my knowledge, never been released but plays a lot in the videos! This is i think the first time we've been able to hear an actual snippet of it, which is great! I really hope it releases, one of my favorite remixes from a classic.
As a capable human with a working mind, I could have skipped this video. I didn't because I care about Philip's ad revenue. How else is he going to afford his curry pot noodle every night?
I'm very glad they have this, but I'm fearful that it will eventually be phased out entirely. I hope that "support will end on Jan 1" doesn't mean "you can't play it."
I really hope by "Support will end" that just means it will no longer be updated, and stay in a limbo state like CS:S, rather than being deleted entirely from the launch options.
Hey, will you ever make a video about the mod Counter-Strike - Source Offensive? It's literally what it says, turning CSS into CS:GO, and it's really well done. I think it deserves some recognition.
This feels like a bad way to let people access csgo, hiding it's existence in an obscure menu means in a few years new people discovering counter strike might not even know it existed. No store page for the most enduring competitive shooter ever?
It makes me happy seeing that Factorio was in the "recent games" because your Factorio video from like 5 years ago originally got me into Factorio, so I'm glad you're still playing :)
Okay, it's great that it's still there, but they also could have just as easily kept them as separate games. But this works too, glad to be able to have fun with both.
Because they don't want to divide the playerbase as it happened when they moved from 1.6 to Source, then again when the move from Source to CSGO was done
Because of the skin's market. They wanted people to play CS2 and buy their kinds there. More money more marketing. If CSGO were made a separate game, this wouldn't have happened and greedy Valve will always think of money over quality or consumer satisfaction. When they made CSGO, they made it a separate game from CSS as there were no skins involved then.
nothing has changed actually, Valve already stated that even tho CS:GO has ended support, you can still play the game, but the game will no longer receiving security updates and other patches, and some stuff like Inventory will eventually fail. Edit: Valve is still updating Win7 to this date with the Jan 12 update, despite they supposed to drop the support back in Jan 1.
I miss the old CS, straight from the ':GO - CS Smooth on the frames CS, no lag in games CS I hate the new CS, the bad frames CS The always bright CS, spaz in the ping CS I miss the smooth CS, bhopping moves CS I gotta to say at that time I'd like to play CS
This is how tutorials need to be done. No need for introduction, don't ask for my subscription, I'm here to fix a problem not you. No jump cuts. No asking for likes, if you help us we will like it.
> Support for it will end on January 1st 2024 I wonder if that means they will remove it from betas, or just no longer make sure it works at all but keep it there.
Philip, I beg you start a new Tutorial series for Source2. Yes, there are many others who already made those, but they don't explain like you do. They either talk too much or don't explain right. You were the only one who taught me how to use Source SDK, The way that you explain and make these videos are unmatchable. This was the reason why I subscribed to you in the first place and I enjoy all the content you have made. This is not a demand, it's a begging! Please Philip, I beg you, make a Source 2 series Tutorials PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
This masterpiece you have drawn in this wideo... It changed my life! What if it's all a dream? What if we aren't real? That's a motivation to live your best life, because it's probably just someones dream...
I still don't understand why people suddenly think that they will delete csgo entirely 💀💀 bro 1.6, source are still available, their old game are still there
