I'm still having troubles staying light and smooth at the frog for any rp, pr, rr, pp, etc (r run, p pony) But i think maybe that is built on bow hold, then the shoulder, and then the breathing. My hold varies all the way from the German to the Old Russian. Big milestone next week, it will be one year of playing. (approx 500 hours). Double stops in first position, intonation is ok, vibratio ok, scales, very logical. String crossing is improving. Full bow is now easier. I still cant marry the little finger bow hold lever with the fluid colle bow style. Its a lovely instrument, ill get there eventually.
It’s normal for this to be much more difficult at the frog. I recommend doing it at the tip. I only suggested using other parts of the bow because this can give us a good workout or practice for the bow in other ways. Thx and congrats!
