Surprise you are still doing snes classic stuff, but wanted to thank you, you helped me a lot, now have over 900 of the best games ever on mine. It's a long progress, and might never be finished lol, but, I am playing games I would have never played before. Any Saturn games work flawlessly on the snes classic, I guess that's the last console I can add, maybe guardian Heroes?

Excellent video as usual, just want to point out that some specifics games like “Final Fantasy VI Advance” would only work properly with the Gp_Sp core and of course the gba bios_bin to fix any sound issue ... as for the rest of my gba games I’ve them on mGBA. It would be cool to have a “best performance core list for gba games” to know which core works the best for each game, maybe not all games but at least the most popular ones.

Hey Patton. Thanks for these videos, they've been a big help setting up the USB stick for my SNES Classic. Just gotta ask you how you managed to group the games in Hakchi by console. It'll come in handy since I'm planning on adding GBA games in the future.

Thanks for the video. Sadly GBA and GBC/GB games all have the warning message that assets are missing and the controller seems to not get supported. It asks for an onlin update which I cannot find. Any tipps?

It didn't work for me. What could've gone wrong? When I started my SNES it was as if it was reset to default memory/settings except for when it started I saw a Hakchi start-up screen..?

What controller did you use? The NES one doesn't have R+L which makes some games impossible to play

For Sword of Mana, the only core that work the best is VBA-M. GP-SP will goes to black screen after character creation and mGBA will have major graphical glitches.

For some reason it randomly crashes and makes this Eerie/glichy sound when it happens. I can of course go to the menu and re open the game to restart it, but it's a bit of a problem if I want to play the games that I want in long sessions, what if I forget to save? Is there a solution to this?

Isn't gpsp like the less accurate? Mednafen (Beetle GBA) and mgba are probably the best ones

Fun question that hopefully someone can answer. I modded my Sega Classic with Hakchi and added a core to run Nintendo 64 on it. I have 2 USB N64 controllers and the system recognizes them sort of but the button mappings for the controller are way off. Best I can tell start is start, Z is R trigger, L is A so my question is within the game and the core itself how do I open the menu to configure the controllers? I know on the SNES and NES Classics it is select and start but these buttons aren't available for use in this case.

Does this support the Pokemon gba and gbc games rtc functions? Like in emerald and crystal? Or does the system not have something that acts as that battery.

Mine has a battery, I don’t need to make save states for Pokemon. Even legacy of goku saves like it’s a battery

Hey Patton, I've tried playing the patched version (i.e. sound restoration patch & color restoration patch) of Final Fantasy VI Advance using the mGBA core on the SNES Classic and it always runs slowly and clunkily. When I try any of the other GBA cores for that game, they crash outright. It's possible I just didn't load the game or cores correctly, but I've tried this a few times and get the same result each time. Do you have a take on what might be causing this and/or how to fix this? Love your videos btw, they're super helpful!!

Check your command lines and make sure they are correct. If you are using gpsp make sure you have the bios installed.

Press start and select to pull up hack menu, click back then press video. Under video find aspect ratio, this allows you to change size of screen so they’re not stretched out

Is it possible to decrease the GBA screen size? It is huge on TV, and it would be nice to make it smaller, or at least put edges.

Yesssss I had this issue and fixed it. Look up a video “snes classic aspect ratio” the steps are (only done it once) Click start and select - pulls up hack menu Press the back button Click on settings Click on video From there click the middle one (should say aspect ratio or video layout) Next change aspect ratio I choose the 1:1. It makes the gba fit on the tv screen without stretch. I have a 27 inch for my classics and it looks AMAZING. Some games look way better then the SNES games

VMST no problem bro! Glad it works. And last suggestion, try CTR filter for the gba games. It clears up then pixels even on a big screen. Tried it last night 🙏🏽

VMST on the main screen of the SNES classic, not the hack menu. You should see “display” from there you can change it to crt mode

That's correct, you would have to find an alternative controller if you want to play these games.

@@PattonPlays I have a SNES Mini as well and use the controllers in the NES. It plays perfect. However if you dont have one I would suggest 8BitDo. There are also 2 controllers for very cheap on Ebay, but not sure how good they would be

So wait a minute. Retroarch is no longer the goto addon when adding cores to run inside of it? It's been about 6 months and I reverted back to it's original state and I've notice some differences with in store etc. I just want to have retroarch and it's cores. Super confused now. Politics had something to do with it?

Yeah I just drag and drop the games into Hackchi instead of pushing the add more games button. Then you can highlight them all at once to add box art or change the emulator core.

Why don't you mention anything about the pixelated graphics when playing GBA games on SNES Classic Mini on a wide full screen TV? The screen of GBA is smaller than wide screen TV. I am using Retroarch 184 Extreme Amped and core mGBA. I guess there are ways to make the screen smaller and possibly correct the pixelated graphics but I don't know yet how. Why don't you handle these in your video?

Go to Hakchi menu and click back. then go to settings, from there click on video. then you can change your aspect ratio to fit the screen. I use 1:1 since it looks best and I put on the crt filter from there mini display screen to clear up pixels. I was on a mission to get legacy of goku 2 to look good on my tv. if anything look up a “hakchi change aspect ratio” and you’ll find a video on it, that’s what I did. Let me know if you need help

Artjom Pastchenko on the main page of the SNES classic, when you’re looking at the games click up. that’ll bring you to the display settings where you can choose from 4:3 pixel perfect or CRT. CRT is perfect for the gba games. did you at least change the aspect ratio?

@@Itsfayd Yes, I did. I put 1:1 PAR (3:2 DAR) as the aspect ratio. It goes near full screen that way. But the screen goes pixelated unless I have Bilinear Filter on. I don't understand how it affects the Retroarch screen, if you have the CRT filter chosen on the main page of SNES Classic menu? I couldn't find any CRT filter on Retroarch.

Artjom Pastchenko it’s not a CRT filter in the retroarch settings, they are in the SNES mini settings. the CRT filter will add scan lines to the gba games so they are clear. It’s not a retroarch setting it’s a setting on the SNES mini
