Hi, this is Luke Clebsch saying thanks for watching another one of my harmonica lessons, "How to Play Harmonica Songs: If You Wanna Get to Heaven" by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. The song is in the key of C, so I am playing an F harp in 2nd position (cross-harp.)
When you're learning how to play harmonica, the "train" type riffs are important to spend some time with. "If You Wanna Get to Heaven" is a fantastic one to incorporate.
It's important when you're learning how to play a harmonica song like this that you be very patient, and play the riff slowly and evenly. The speed will come with time. We always want to play everything fast to impress people, but remember, you have to go slower in order to go faster. The speed will come with time, I promise. Rushing will create bad habits.
Here are the harmonica tabs in C (for F harmonica:)
2-(W) 1-2-3- 1-2-3- (saying "tuh")
1+2+3+ (saying tuh-kuh-tuh)
3- 3-(W) 1-2-3- 1+2+3+
3- 3-(W) 1-2-3- 1-2-3-
1+2+3+ (saying tuh-kuh-tuh)
3- 3-(W) 1-2-3- 1+2+3+
