I played and sang this with band support at a recent open mic. Tiffany twisted, I think means she was high society (high society twisted) Got her Mercedes Benz, etc.

Thanks for this video. Enjoying trying it and sounds somewhat recognizable! Real newbie here. I'm getting a handle on chords but really struggle with strumming. For your pattern, it looks like you play it twice for each chord but sometimes it looks like you cut it short when moving to the next chord. Is repeating the strum correct even for when you get to the chorus section? My mind plays tricks on me and thinks sometimes that when the lyrics are fewer that the strum pattern should be shorter, if that makes any sense. Anyway, thanks for your time.

Don't go by the number of words. Some singers cram a lot of words into each measure. I'm always playing the strum pattern and in this song I never change in the middle of a pattern. Sometimes that pause at count 2 can be confusing.

A classic song that will take a bit of practice to get anywhere near the original sound. You realy need to play it on an electric guitar if you want to get near the original, ohh and a 12 string ! Thanks for another great lesson Jamie.

@@JamieAndersonMusic Treat yourself to a 12 string Jamie, there are usually a few for sale on ebay or Reverb, they tend to go for sensible prices as most players dread the hassle of fitting new strings. A friend has a 12 string Burns electric, and it has a great sound, this song was written for how a 12 string sounds.
