Best guide I've watched by far. Most people emphasize on skill moves, knowing what type of shot to choose when finishing, when the first and most important piece of knowledge is how to think the game. You're the first person I've seen so far mentioning scanning the field, when to do it and how to do it. It is certainly what I was truly lacking the most and what I need to train on. Hey man, appreciate the comment. It’s what i’ve been trying to focus on when making this (and the coming) videos. Comments like this reaffirm that i’m not to far off. I coach football and i’ve always tried to apply the same principles to FIFA. I made the guide a couple of years (posted on reddit) back based on my thoughts when i started coaching but only recently remade in into a video. I’m working on doing the same for the other guides i’ve done. When i’m finished with them i’m going to sit down and try to elaborate on them more. And should i find anything worthwhile i’ll try making that into a guide aswell. But again mate, thanks!

Saw this tutorial yesterday and it helped so much, the amount of passes I have in game and accuracy went up as I no longer go for risky passes unless I'm in the final third. I'd love to watch another tutorial from you for defending as most teach partial press, etc instead of the basics. Still gotta learn what to do in the final third as my shots get blocked/my player gets tackled right before I shoot but these tips helped my build up a lot. Overall very good tutorial, definitely subbing :D

your appreciation of space in and around the box is brilliant...i find that once i progress to the opps box there are so many defenders squeezing the space that i dont even consider those 3 yard passes to a man in space on the 6 yard line, the way you were passing there takes all the risk out of shooting as the goals are virtual tap ins...incredibly impressive and such a simple style

Its been said, but I'll confirm. You are the best out there. There is no equivalent on RU-vid of your analysis of football applied to FIFA. It makes the game fun, challenging but interesting. Every loses get to be something you can cherish, as they give you great lessons to how to improve. I play Madden and FIFA regularly. I came across a channel just like yours a couple of years ago (XandOfootball) he explains concepts just like you. He incorporates the concepts of the game into the video game and makes you 10 times better because of this, not just follow a META that may be patched a month later. Great video! I had been honing my skill moves all this time and I reached a point where I could get past the midfield but never created chances to finish and score. Scanning the field, creating triangles, instructing runs, switching play to the wings, when I combined this with my current skills I managed to beat a full meta squad with pele, jairzinho, Messi, mbappe in fut champs! Love the analysis style of video that you’ve made! Hoping for more content

Greatest tutorial for FIFA ever, I play exactly like yours and no matter the opponent the game is mine unless mbappe or jarzinho running. I play on fast build up, 8 players in the attack and high defensive line. Which obviously is dangerous regarding counter attacks but gives me greater options to control the ball and making it harder to the opponent to focus on just or two players that I want to attack with! My lack of pacy defenders destroys me, did smalling, he's a bum.. Bought gold VVD yesterday and he secured my defense need better links though! I guess me playing with possession in mind leaves great spaces behind and idk how to cover them

That's one of the drawbacks of being in possesion. You're always going to be vulnerable to counters. In my eyes the trade-off is worth it though!

Would you show your passing settings etc? I think it matters a lot, because your passes look very clean and strong. I have problem with passes they are often slow and first time passes are joke to me. It would be nice to see tutorial how to actually make good quality pass (accuracy and power)

Yeah sure, i’ve got everythin on assisted. But Passes are slow for me aswell sometimes. I think the reason my passes look clean and strong is because i try to play like in the tips. For example if you watch each clip indivdually, you can apply all 4 check marks and it works. This style has kind of become a habit to me. It has to be natural in my eyes, so If it’s a pass i wouldn’t be able to do in real life, i wouldn’t try it in FIFA. The power and accuracy is interesting, accuracy can be annoying with the game because it’s inconsistent, but i could definitely look into making a short (don’t think it has to be a long video) regarding the power, seeing as it does make a huge difference this year.

1 tip is to use driven a pass followed by a normal one touch pass. That can give you both momentum and accuracy as spamming driven passes can reduce pass accuracy as they are less consistent. Tip 2 is to always make sure you are passing on your players strong foot and facing the direction of the pass or at least within 45 degrees.

Thanks, i’m going to be putting up a video soon about those things but to answer it. 1. L1 when receiving 2. I strive to not take extra touches, but if i were to to L1 or R1. 3. I never really turn to make space, if i turn it’s because there’s is space already. I’ll be going abit more in depth in the video but i hope that’s helpul!

Not any specific player but a type maybe. The CM and LM/RM must be good all around. Then it’s up to you, i personally prefer to have good finishers on the wing as they are very involved in attack. But if you’re a bit more conservative, defense could be more important.

I'm not a baby I'm 43 and it's been tough to get to where I am now which is seasons div 3/4. I won't compromise on my style, I won't do the same thing all the time or score sweaty goals (I try to where it's genuinely the right option). I feel I lose to a lot of meta players who know I'm better in defence and more attractive in attack so when I heard what you were saying I knew I'd found my home. 1 sub. It's late.
