This is just a little tip I've noticed while playing as her that didn't occur to me at first. If a Jenos is on the enemy team, watch to see what talent they pick. If they pick The Power Cosmeum then you won't be able to pounce out of his Void Grip. Just a good thing to keep note of during a match
If you're playing any flank champion this is a thing you have to look out for anyway, as a squishy flank alone in the enemy backline getting lifted by jenos cripple means death if you don't have at least resilience 2.
as a maeve main, watching people get upset about her street justice talent makes me laugh LOL. she is not hard to kill if you understand her movement abilities, and in my experience, playing her has helped me understand how to better counter her. obviously a good maeve is going to be difficult to kill, but that kind of goes for anyone who is good at the character they're playing
i found that maeve mains can be very easy to counter if you can slow her down or get her on the ground making grover and genos or even octavia seemingly a decent counter this season cause maeve got shadow buffed and is now faster than before lul
yes when i play flank i dont have problems engaging with a maeve my problem is that when im low and retreating i just found her and she street justice me out of existance and its just annoying (like 33% of those unlucky pounces are bc of my bad positioning tho)
9 months of training and watching this guide have gotten me to where I am now. 4 different times I thought I should quit Maeve. I am 38 levels in with her and still holding strong now being able to do so damn well now. I am going to keep watching this guide and learn all I can from it. Weather I win or lose isn't up to me I'm here just to have fun now.
Maeve main here, bought 5 levels in total, my now level 109. I've only played Maeve mainly during my whole paladins life. What I noticed: Some champions really does her bad. Androxus: If this androxus is very good it won't matter if you try to flee. He'll make quick shots while you are in mid air. Evie: Wormhole evie can be very confusing and give them the upper hand. Jenos: His grab ability, you can't flee his grasp once you're in it. Makoa: Keep your distance or he will grab you and one-punch you.
The most painful encounter I had as a Maeve was an Inara with a Treacherous Guard Talent. She'd hunt me down whenever I wandered near, place Warden Field, and I knew as soon as I got caught I was dead lol. It was so frustrating seeing that "crippled" in my screen. Learnt quick to MOVE away as soon as I saw her and fall back. She still surprised me every now and then 😬, totally lost that match though haha
I think having Walk it off at least on lvl 2 would be greatly beneficial. I've never experienced major benefit from DR with Maeve, especially against snipers.
A really solid guide though one thing to add about street justice. The old meta played in the PPL when street justice was the meta would always go for six sense(DR) and HP cards. Getting quicker resets on your pounce for more executes sounds like it makes a lot of sense but a huge part of that playstyle was being survivable too. Also a good call on kill to heal but one neat tip is that anyone who dies while her ult is active will heal maeve because it counts as an assist.
A really nice and helpful guide!! I just wanted to add on that if I recall from my long forgotten Paladins Beta days of maining Maeve, using her ultimate actually makes enemies not be able to hear your prowl sounds so long as you're outside of their vision circle thingy! So that's pretty cool heh, anyhow thank you for yet again an awesome video!
I used to main Maeve, she's my favourite character and I got good at her but then I quit the game for 2 years. Now I want to play Paladins again but honestly, I kinda nervous of about playing Maeve again.
Kinessa and Bomb King both have two talents that augment their weapons, Corvus has two talents that augment his mark, Dredge has two talents that augment his harpoon, Furia has two talents that augment her beam, Seris has two talents that augment Rend Soul (sort of), Sha Lin has two talents that augment crippling arrow, and Torvald has two talents for his protection.
Am I the only one struggling to see how you can two shot with Cat Burglar? You need 800+240+800 which is 1840 damage. Only champion who has less than 1900 basehealth is Evie. That means you do still need Pounce, or another set of daggers, or reset prowl. The thing is if you are hitting 3 daggers, or 2 daggers and pounce. You will still need 3 instances of damage regardless.
@@AndrewChicken But the description says "Increase the damage of each of your daggers from your first dagger sets within 5s of Prowl ending by 30%." If your first dagger set does 400 +400. Each dagger does 520 damage. That's 520+520. I understand a dagger set to be the two daggers that are thrown together from one auto attack. Not two sets of daggers (consisting of 4 daggers together). Plus all damage champs have atleast 2000 health .
@@tradtrad1000 Yes, that's just Paladins being bad at descriptions. If you've seen any Maeve Cat Burglar gameplay or played with it yourself, you can observe that this bonus applies to the first two dagger sets after your prowl ends (hence the plural "sets" in the description of the talent). This means that your first set does 520 per dagger, or 1040 total, and then your second set also does the same damage. Both sets combined yields 2080 damage, which is enough to two-shot damage champions with 2000 health like Sha Lin or Lian. Just look at the gameplay at 2:08 and you can see that the first two sets have that orange bonus damage indicator, not just the first set. Replace that Androxus with a full-health Zhin, and he would still die, because Zhin only has 2000 health.
about the map thing im a maeve one trick to me every other champion feels dull and boring so i just learned to play around the maps that arent good and the ones that are
As an ok lex player, Its not maeves exacution I despise. Its how the gane revelas those who are low enough to be executed, her pounce goes through shields. WhileI have to judge where the execution happens and cant go through shields with my ULT
Used to be possible to buy deft hands on her when she was released Also 35% execute is just braindead i don't see y wouldn't I abuse it as maeve one trick
unpopular opinion but ı think street justise is very op bc its very begginer friendly and very annoying for the enemy team. also people can use cards or buy items to get their hp more but that doesnt nerf the talent. street justise also ignores the shields of tanks whic is very helpfull in ranked. no matter how much shield torvald has, as long as his hp is low enough he would die easily. ı think pounce doesnt have enough damage so ıd prefer street justise to rouge's gambit
Im playing maeve as a main champ but she is really broken against low level player or low expierenced players. You can easily make 30 kilms in a single siege game
I honestly feel like she's sobasic that, if you're not a pro player is not worth picking. And that's because there are other options that i feel stronger... She's not enough "unique"
And people still claim that she's not stupid OP like geez, small af hitbox and hipermobility is enough to be broken and overshadow and outclass any other dmg negation/absorbsion and temporal invicibility skills and dodge counters like a crutch despite her nerfs, basically the brigitte of this game that only dia+ players can deal with
