It's my 3rd evening practicing this and I'm already 10mins in your video, playing at a nice tempo :) The only thing I'm missing is a video from the side that can demonstrate the up-down movement. Top-down video is great to understanding the notes and the in-out and rotation movements, however not very good for the up-down. Nevertheless, I think this video is the best explanatory and practicing video on youtube.

Dude.... Duuuuude..... DUDE! You have absolutely no idea how much i appreciate this!!. This is a piece i was learning about 8 years ago but became unwell and stopped playing the piano. I will learn this eventually. In the past school year, from August to now, I've grown closer to classical music. I asked my parents for an electric piano for Christmas and I love it. My dream is to become a soloist and a composer. In the past 6 to 7 months I've learned Chopin pieces like his waltz in a minor (op.posth) and even his waltz in c sharp minor. Thank you

Same story for me I got a keyboard since I am very fond of classical music from the moment I first listened to it. 6 months in and I can play Moonlight sonata 1st and 3rd mvmt (3rd without bass and 2 hands on the progression), rondo alla turca (turkish march), Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C sharp minor Op 3 no 2 and Debussy’s Arabesque and Clair de lune wich I am learning right now. Let’s both rise to the top, brother.

aiemii i I myself have those thoughts to not practice and not learn, especially in my situation where i’m playing with a 60 euros keyboard with bad sound and no pedals. You could see this as discouraging or you can take a different way, a different perspective and be grateful for even having an instrument to begin with. Be happy to have the ability to play pieces that can span back to 200 years back, be happy to work on yourself. Your future self will thank you, he’ll look back to the beginnings and be grateful to even have started. You’ll also feel the same satisfaction after you finally completed a hard piece, keep broadening your raw musical talent into a big repertoire my friend.

My speed and fluidity has dramatically increased with just a short practice. I will be working these tips into my practice routine from now on. I have watched many good videos on how to practice this piece, they have been good but were lacking in addressing the problems encountered when trying to increase your playing speed. The other videos just brush over the problems and solutions but this one really identifies the problems and how to overcome them. It's simply incredible what you do here. Where others would expect money, you just bring out a video to learn a full piece bit by bit, explaining like a real piano teacher who you probably are. You already really helped me to learn the beautiful piece Clair de lune from Debussy, but I really didn't expect that you would take the time to explain the *whole* 3rd movement of the moonlight sonata. I can't put into words how much I appreciate that. Plus, you're not only showing how to paly the piece but also introduce some exercises to master some very difficult parts of it. I'm probably not even close to the level of a hobby piano player who actually should learn this piece, but I am very convinced that everyone can learn anything, if they just practice the piece. This is one of my favorites and I'm excited to learn it. First completing first movement, then second, and then this very one in this video. Wish me luck!

Could you give me some advice please?

I’m nowhere near ready or able to begin learning this, but until I can I’m happy to listen it and watch tutorial videos. I’ll certainly come to this video when I’m able to start learning this piece though.

It's a bitch learning this depending on your skill level, but there is nothing more satisfying than when you play this and it finally starts to sound like the actual piece.

@@PianoSecretsChannel I am, I started practicing the right hand at the end of February. Not heavily, would just practice the first 3 climbs a few times a day. Introduced left hand in August, and now I can play through part 1 at mid 150s bpm. Once it started sounding like the actual piece it was much easier to get motivated to practice. I'm not totally inexperienced, I know most chords, major/minor scales, etc. I took piano lessons for a few years as a kid, but didnt touch a piano from age 12-25. Then started playing a little bit more in my late 20s, but never anything close to this tempo with these kinds of fingerings and arpeggios. The one advantage I have is that I've typed 120wpm since I was like 11, so I knew I had the finger speed. I'm hoping I can play 90%+ of it by 2024.

For people who lose accuracy when they speed up the arpeggios i have an other tips : focus on where your pinky has to go at the end of each arpeggios and you’ll be able to speed it up. Gl

Too hard for me yet, but man you are a GREAT teacher. Love the way you present this too. Synthesia + Hand position. I dont think most youtube piano channels have the hand position part, which is actually VERY VERY important especially for people who's trying to learn themselves.
