One thing I wish was specified on the board and/or player aid is that military has a max of 2 recruit per turn. It mentions it in the rule book but not on the board/aid. This really jacked up my first game because everyone was paying 60 money at the end to put 12 military out and spending another 10 to move most of them to adjacent places and it was insane. Completely different game I f you know you can only recruit a max of 2.
Just got my Colossal kickstarter edition. Honestly, that box is just too big for me to store happily, and the cardboard bits are quite beautiful in their own rights and in a way prettier than the unpainted miniature bits. If I had it to do over, I'd have selected the shallower-box cardboard edition (with the metal coins as an add-on, perhaps).
When you start out and tell me there are eight things I can choose from in a turn, and then don't immediately run through what they are (very briefly -- produce, government action, etc.), I am no longer listening to anything you say. I'm still waiting for you to list the eight things. I'm tuned out. Great game, though!
