Please, Please, Please, has been everywhere since its release on 6/6/24, debuting at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video has been a big hit too, featuring Carpenter’s real-life boyfriend Barry Keoghan (of Saltburn fame), with 30 million views as of this writing. I first became aware of Sabrina Carpenter when Olivia Rodrigo released Driver’s License in 2021, and the public speculated that the song alluded to her off-screen relationship with Carpenter and co-star Joshua Bassett. Carpenter was a fellow Disney star and despite being only 25, has released 5 studio albums to date, as well as opening for Taylor Swift as part of the European leg of her Eras tour.
This video is filmed on a tenor ukulele, though you could also play this arrangement on a concert or soprano ukulele. I’ve developed my own lead sheet (link below) which includes the tab, notation, and chords for this song. This song uses several easy no-barre ukulele chords, including F, Am, Dm, Gm, and C. If you’ve been looking to get started playing popular tunes or acoustic classics on your ukulele, this is a great introduction. The video lesson gives you an opportunity to practice playing the chords while singing, as well as showing you an easy fingering for how to play the melody. Happy strumming and, as always, comment below if you have any questions!
