download the vrperfkit_v0.3 and extract only the vrperfkit.yml (this you can adjust to suit your needs or leave as default) and dxgi.dll in to rdr2 directory. this should boost performance!

i had to mess around with mine a while back to get it to work but that's amazing that you put this video out for others to get the VR mod working! RDR2 in VR is a completely different experience and deserves to be played by everyone.

After dozens of hours of research I finally figured out how to get rdr2 in vr run the best way without blurryness etc. On reddit I wrote a guide about but when I link it my post is deleted here on yt. So google the title "How to play RDR2 VR in 2024 via Luke Ross' mod without blurry images - MY GUIDE" (one key factor is to set STEREO to MONO in the ingame mods settings)

that gets rid of all 3d. so its not actually virtual reality which is literally no different to playing in theater mode. I do not recommend it. if you play on medium to low or on low hardware it's going to indeed look blurry. only thing I can say us to upgrade in time. I just recently got a Intel i9 11900k cpu to pair with my 3080 and it runs like butter in the hmd for me

First of all, thank you for the guide. I followed it exactly and got it working perfectly this morning. I managed to play a couple of missions and it looked great and ran great. I shut my PC down and just turned it back on, and now the game won't work at all. I've made sure I have the theatre mode option turned off but the game launches and it's stuck in theatre mode on a black screen with a yellow revolver symbol going round and round on the bottom right corner. Any idea what the fix for that might be? Thanks again.

Just a suggestion, but it'd probably be better if you recorded on a 16:9 monitor if possible, text on an ultrawide is practically illegible at such a high resolution when it's squished down to 16:9 which is most common :)

this is actually something im working on, i want a normal 4k monitor which is what im working towards. this ultrawide is my work monitor lol. its making it very difficult for me to record flatscreen games because of this. thank you for you thoughtful suggestion mate.

Every time i try to boot the game up through steam vr after already playing it and getting the mod stuff in rockstar says the game is already playing and doesn’t log me in, then the game boots for a tiny bit and then everything closes and crashes

after I tried the tutorial, I proceeded to delete and then reinstall red dead redemption and after doing that I'm still having the same problem. I ended up getting rid of the because it didn't do I thought it would do but it's still in this weird screen where it's a lot smaller than my actual monitor

im on a rtx 3080 and intel i9 11900k it runs fine on ultra for me but at night in places like valentine or strawberry can get choppy due to candle light i think. so i run it at high now with no issues.

there must be some setting thats overriding it for you, some updates happen regardless but you can just re install the mod, and you might've missed something mate, ive never had that error.

What's the best way to remove the mod if it's not working or you wanna go back to playing normal 2D mode. Does it keep your game save file intact if you go back and fourth at all?

just take a look at whats in the folder you extracted the mod from find the corresponding files and delete them and then look for anything that as VR in the file name if there are any left over delete them. and thats all that is needed.

Thanks for the help!! Quick question tho. Everytime I open my settings menu in game, like subtitles, aim type etc, the game crashes. Any fix for this??

yes i dont know if i mentioned it i think i did on another comment. once the vr mod is put in settings is no longer accessible as the realvr programme then becomes your settings. anything you want to change i would recommend doing before putting in the mod. also if its graphics related stuff then there's no point as like i said realvr will overwrite that anyway. hope this helps.

yes it did for me, but all I had to do was go into the real vr configuration file and delete your current settings and just simply re do it and select your preset setting again. if you pressed yes to change scripthook just reinstall the mod

Whenever I try to send the files to the game folder and open the realconfig.bat file, command prompt pops up and says "ERROR: Mod installation files not found. When unzipping the mod archive, please make sure to overwrite existing files and to use folder names (preserve the zip folder structure). Aborting RealConfig Press any key to continue . . . " I'm installing it from the link in the description, any tips? I'd really appreciate them

I got it working, crazy. Basically, I had to change the install format (I went into the Realconfig.bat file in the dropbox, downloaded it from there (should be a winrar instead of a folder or regular paper looking file ((((I'm not good with computers, please don't mind, I'm trying my best to explain to anyone else having my problem))))) Then, CommandPrompt asked if I wanted to allow it to make changes, clicked yes, then it started working.

ive loaded it on the low setting and have used the performance kit and yet it is still extremely glitchy and on like 10 fps. I have a 4060 so idk

sounds like you didnt turn off theatre mode in steam. the video explains it precisely just give it a watch again :)

@@EddyzGamingRoom I’ve no other mods no, i’m using steam legit version same build as yours in the video 1491.18 RTX 3060 TI game crashes when it’s getting ~70 fps so not an issue with that surely?

@@EddyzGamingRoom yeah the game runs fine for a few minutes then I get the crash, another has suggested running it back to the known stable version 1436.28 but seeing you use 1491.18 with no issues i’m not entirely convinced that’s the solution

have you got any FPS counters on? i recommend turning them off if you have. i hope this helps. if theres anything specific i will try help as best i can

i got an error code 15, which has happened in the past when attempting to do this mod, I don't think it works because it won't work with rockstar games services :/

if you've bought it through rockstar launcher then yeah it wont work like i say in the vid its steam only.

nah it was just a random error, the rockstar launcher just wasn't connecting, before the vr mod didn't work because rockstar specifically made it so if it detected the vr mod it wouldn't connect to rockstar services and give you an error code, but relaunching it this time worked. ran out of memory error occurred but i increased my vram because i have 32 gigs and don't think that would be a problem lol@@EddyzGamingRoom

if you meant then it should help and what Ryzen? as 7 is just the generation number? and 16 gb of ram should cut it. VR performance kit in the description should help you out too!

no,the rollback files are for steam only. I say this in the firrst 2 minutes of the video mate. you can get a discount key if you have a look around, shouldn't be that much

Hi there, All you need to do is delete the corresponding files that came the mod and then anything in the game directory that says VR. as for the scripthook, you will be deleting the one that came with the VR and when you start the game fresh again it will remake the script hook it should be on.

I’m able to run the game smoothly for the first few minutes, but anytime i try to enter my settings or map i receive the same error. It looks like @thelegand1 had the same issue as me, did you guys find a fix?

im really sorry if i didnt mention it, settings, once the mods installed, will completely crash the game. i recommend you alter your settings before installing the mod. if its anything to do with the graphics theres no real point as the vr mod will re write it all anyway. also some tips : try holding your pause/option menu instead of trying to access the map via pause screen and if you have any FPS counters on your monitor turn it off as it can cause visual artefact-ing in the HMD. I really hope this helps!
