Great build, but one thing I’d probably change is I would swap wisdom and intelligence. Reinhardt isn’t really building his own armor that more of Torbjorn’s job, and with age comes wisdom, plus you need to be observant to protect your team from all side.

How to build Reinhardt? Make a Paladin. Just a Paladin.

Hate to be that guy, but Divine Smite caps out at an additional 5d8 radiant damage, only getting up to 6d8 thanks to Improved Divine Smite. Admittedly, some DMs might lift that restriction, but considering how much burst damage a Paladin is already capable of, I wouldn’t count on it. So picking up a 5th Level Spell might actually be worth considering. Specifically, Destructive Wave can be an excellent pick, after, you gotta bring that HAMMER DOWN! Edit: Typos.

Oath of Devotion or alternatively Oath of the Crown fits as well since Reinhart battles on in memory of his fallen comrades and shared belief in the Overwatch goals.

How to play as Rein in D&D : have a backup character

Ok so if youre living in 2021 like me watching this video there is another oath you can get called "Oath of Glory". Reading into it you may notice that its Rein to a T and gives you spells at 5th level like Guiding bolt (His flame strike), Heroism, Enhance ability, and Magic weapon (Rocket Hammer that can break through any energy barrier/magic defense) along with the peerless athlete and inspiring smite divinity channels. Its good stuff for creating this character

would definitely add shield master feat for instant evasion to cover that low dex

I think one more thing this needs is the Martial Adept feat. Take the Trip Attack from the Fighter Maneuvers to bring that HAMMER DOWN!

I love how functionality accurate this is to real rein. Massive damage up close, no good counters against flying enemies, cannot protect allies who run away from you

Episode 50 of the Fire Emblem stats: Reinhardt. Reinhardt is a heavily armored hammer user with a shield. As such, he's good at heavy armor, axes (which hammers count as), and faith (since that's a pretty magic-looking shield). Both of his defensive stats are ridiculous and his attack and speed are what you'd expect from a rocket-powered hammer. None of his stats are bad except for magic.

Doesn't protection fighting style require a shield? so GWM and a two handed rocket hammer wouldnt make sense with that fighting style?

So, my favorite books as a kid were the Wizard of Oz books, and my favorite movie was Return to Oz, have you heard of it? Well, one of the characters name is Tik-Tok, he's considered one of the first robots written in literature, but he's technically not even a robot, hes a CLOCKWORK machine, i wanted to make my version of him for a D&D campaign, but ive never really had any friends that played, thought i might as well put it here, maybe youll see it, if not im at least spreading some knowledge about Oz, because not a lot of people remember Return to Oz since it bombed at the box office in the 80s, still love that movie but nostalgia probably clouds my judgement Oz could really make for a few cool videos on this channel IMO, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Jack Pumpkinhead, Tik-Tok, could all make for some neat videos here Edit: but yeah, basically you need to wind up Tik-Tok for him to be able speak, move, and think (separate wind- up keys for each) He doesnt need to eat or sleep, in the film he spins around and clobbers bad guys so he could have an AOE attack, idk, youd need to watch the movie to understand what im talking about XD Jim Hensons team did the effects for any film lovers out there, if you like Henson, his team did a great job on that movie, one of the main reasons i love it so much XD

Why pick Protection from Evil and Good as a spell if it already comes with the Oath of Devotion?

So GWM and Protection style dont really gel. Prot requires a shield, and most of GWM requires 2 handing. Id honestly leave out Protection as its situational benefit and relevance to the theme is kinda dwarfed by the benefit of having Great Weapon Fighting for rerolling low damage dice. And, honestly, id save Sword and Boarding for his ward. X3

Most people know how to build a character like Reinhardt. The video would be better if you explained how to roleplay like Reiehardt, what would he say, do, feel etc

Instead of Charger I picked Shield Master bonus action shove plus a dex save boost
