Thank you for this guide. I wanted to play HoTF online, but I didn't know how to begin as a player. I hadn't played any real 2d fighters, and this got me into them. I enjoy playing Joseph, but Shadow Dio has a special place in my heart. Until I see myself as ready to play online, I'll keep honeing my skills in Practice and hard vs matches. My big bro also helps with it, both of us love jojo and now 2d fighters because of this video. You're doing great work! Edit: If there will ever be a new jojo game, just make it updated HoTF. Don't change the characters, don't change the systems, don't change anything. Just give us new characters. Hell, just updating to part 5 would be godlike. HoTF is my favorite fighting game, even with Khan and Hol Shenanigans.

Shadow dio was one of the first characters that helped me understand the basics of the game and this video helped reinforce. I can't wait to see a Chaka guide by you come out.
This video really helped brush my shadow game up, his B&B is so OP it's ridiculous, cross-up game is amazing too. I'd say you are definitely right when you mention him being very beginner friendly.

I see what you did there with the Sonic font. "Shadow" DIO. (For those who don't get the joke, there's a character called Shadow The Hedgehog in the Sonic series.)
A unique setup I enjoy using involves canceling d.2C or 2C into 4S and then hitting 5A as a pseudo reset and dashing after. The effect is an ambiguous looking fake cross up that can allow sneaky landing combos
What i love about shadow DIO is that you can be a total fucking tool (like me) that doesn’t know how to combo or properly use specials can still use the guys do to the fact that he’s too damm viable you can add your own play style weather that’s playing as a CC and fast burst combo SD or a shit eating spammer (like me).
its so weird, people say i shouldn't not start playing as a dio because he is a bad pick for beginners but im currently maining him rn and he is the best character i can use.

are there any tutorials that carry over to the like fightcade version, if not, what buttons correspond to what youre saying like 5a and stuff? i have the default controls set up
5 is not pressing any movement key if I'm not wrong, A is light attack, B is Medium and C is Heavy, S is Stand. I don't remember all the numbers but you can see it on the Jojoban Wiki
Important thing I learned; it is VERY IMPORTANT that you actually do 1A instead of 2A in Shadow Dio's bnb loop combo. 2A after a dash doesn't cancel into 5C as quickly as 1A does and the opponent gets an opportunity to act, so actually try to dash into 1A. Also, be careful on spacing; it's easy to miss the 5S if you don't dash far enough. Also be careful not to accidentally input a laser after you dash into 1A.
The funny is that this is the only char without a stand mode, but in the a bizarre day roblox game he is the only one with an ability called “stand mode”
I've never used shadow dio because I'm complete booty cheeks with regular dio and this video is slowly convincing me to be him but I won't do j.b I've gone through too much with j.b already always shows up in my RU-vid ads only people in Illinois will understand

1: Convince someome to charge the super gauge by spamming M or H 2: Fill until at least 8 gauge 3: Stop Time (light, foward, heavy, back, S) 4: Spam S and H 5: watch the enemy lose everything
