I have two naomi slashout carts with the intent to one day have a second cabinet for linked play I didn't know the yakuza team was behind this game, but makes sense!
@@kevin9989 XD I made one YEARS ago and...kinda...abandoned it...maybe I should bring it back but mostly I hang out in my friend's community Discord server instead...hmm... And thanks for the comment of encouragement! It is, in fact, encouraging!
I actually did find Spikeout for the Xbox in a used game store for cheap waayy back when, but didn't use it while I had my old Xbox hooked up and now I'll have to dig it out if I want to use it... but at least I have a guide to its secrets now! I wonder though if knowing these secrets would've netted it better scores back then, or if simpler arcade style games withouy a lot of plot or environments you could explore in the GTA-sense would've ever netted high scores back then. Just feels like at the time, a game like this would've never gotten the time of the day.
Hang on to it! As usual when a really neat niche game gets terrible scores, it has shot up in price. Goes for $200-ish on Ebay now. Good news is that it emulates well on Xemu (which was what I used for the footage here), just the cutscenes are messed up and a few lighting effects are missing. Oh and yeah that is a good point. I think it may have fared better had reviewers read the manual but yeah maybe not since God Hand also reviewed poorly.
