Congratulations for such and excellent, professional and educational explanation for the Suite No. 1. I've seen many, and this is one the best I've ever seen.😀👏👏👏
Hi, great detail and descriptions with phrasing and dynamics. You mentioned gravity at one point in terms of slowing down at the top of a scalular section and speeding up as you get closer to the bottom. Does this imply that your tempo is variable, such as playing Rubato?
Really? Ouch. The only feedback you have from that 20 minute video is about the word song? 😂 Song is actually more inviting to the common listener, bringing in even people who don't use the correct term. So...is it important just to show you know the right answers? It sounds like we may have found someone who studied for the SATs to look smart 🤦
In actuality, you are both right. While creating easy access is good, using the commonly accepted correct terminology is an important thing to learn. When I am listening to auditions and a candidate says, “For my first song ….”, I feel inclined to say, “Thank you - next.” (Note: I said”inclined to” - I would never dismiss someone because they used the wrong word, but doing so instantly conveys a lack of knowledge and expertise.)
