I always thought it was possible, but based on a not very reliable source: Electric Light Orchestra's music clip "Last train to London". There are two female cellists standing up on the background, but now I watch carefully they are not even playing anything. 😂

I have another question. Doesn't the endpin get bent while standing?? I was worried if I might do damage to my electric cello.

@@seasaltVC No the end pin is not suppose to get bent. The steel on any standard endpin is sturdy enough to support the weigh of the cello. Just make sure the same strong steel is used on a custom made end pin and my secret is to make sure at least 10cm of endpin is inside the cello to make it solid and no chance to wiggle :)

Hi Skye539! Thank you for watching! All the pin extensions I have seen/played with - were custom made from a local person or place that could work with steel. If you have a Yamaha - I would start by contacting them and see if they can help out? Sorry there is no easier answer to this. Kind regards, Dorette x

I hear you! I am a shortie! I am 1.6 m and it is too short if I wear heals. Yamaha should really sell it with a proper extension. I have seen some DIY jobs - but they wobble and is not stable.
