Brilliant video Tina and thank you. Always wondered how you managed to stop it rolling around in standing position and your advice is simply brilliant. Feel where the cello wants to move and flow with it and of course adapt hand postures. It's almost like a guitarist tremolo picking technique with your standing tremolo arco, using the wrist more than upper arm. Can't wait to dig out my Yamaha to give that a go too. Many thanks for your insights and tips.

I’m the same way! My teacher always tells me to stop with my “floppy fingers” and he says that I need to find the sound that I want with curved fingers. But I’ve done a LOT of experimenting and I can’t. Makes me wish you were my teacher. 😂 A lot of people ask me why my hands look so wired when I play, and I just say that’s how I get the Tina vibrato. And I do get compliments for my vibrato a lot. 😂 anyway, this video was helpful. but I definitely need to get a longer end pin because the scroll is right around my chin so I have to squat to play well 😂

You inspired me for a song that I am writing. The notes are D, E, F and then it goes to C, D, E. When you played the C major scale. I realized that the song I am writing wasn't a key change. It is all in the major scale. Haha so thank you! I want to play the cello so bad! I have a lot of music questions.

Awesome informative video Tina. I like your new Zoom unit. Zoom recording units are way awesome. You should be able to record up to 24bit 96K sample rate if needed. I like zoom as mic or need a stand alone mic unit. I like the XY configuration mics.

A really great and informative video Tina. Thank you for sharing :) have you ever stepped back onto your mixer on the floor? or so far nothing like that has ever happened or at least not will admit too hehe :) That electric one looks taller and the angle of the strings did not seem as angled as the original so is it primarily designed to be played standing as opposed to sitting for the traditional style? or is it just the way am looking at it? Be safe , take care and thank you for all you share with us all :) You look as always stunning :) I loved what you said about when playing. You have to flow as part of the music become the music your body moves with the music. Is there fingers exercises you do before you actually play? especially for the fingers playing the strings? or do you just play a practice piece first as the warm up?

I'm 6:2" and I still have problems adjusting to playing sitting down, and I've been at this cello business for forty years. 😉 (Only a few people notice my horrible posture because of the tux and sitting in the section, though.)

I just got a leeche. I know it’s not top of the line. I’m doing ok, but the moment I tried to use vibrato on G and C and almost dropped it! 😹 it’s gonna take time.

I have a basic 5 string electric cello that is darn near impossible to play in the traditional seated position. It's so narrow I am constantly hitting my left leg with the bow. I cannot hold this thing steadily. That's what I need help with. No way could this cello be played standing up. No braces like yours.
