Great lesson Ben! You're my favourite uncle! The attention to detail in your lessons is quite unparalelled! Thanks to you I finally really mastered the epic John Norum solo from Final Countdown, especially the 'bluesy' part, which almost everyone gets wrong.. You kinda remind me of my old guitar teacher/friend I had when I picked up the electric guitar back in '92, exact same humor :-) The guy playing the Dance Macabre solo on the Prequelle album (and who also wrote all of it) is actually Tobias Forge himself. Nobody ever saw him play this solo, but Fire Ghoul (real name Per Eriksson), who also is an excellent player btw, indeed plays the slide part on the B-string with another slide towards the end instead of on the G-string as you can see in the live recordings. I think it has a better feel to it that way, more drama thanks to the slide if you will.. He also picks the 15th position on the B-string during the long slide part at the beginning. If I Iisten real close the what's happening on the album version of this solo, I think It's played exactly like Per plays it live.. I also seem to hear the slide on the B-string at the end of the slide part. Hard to tell though.. Anything goes, as long as it sounds right, right? Keep up the good work. Really appreciate it man!

Outstanding job! I had learned the arpeggio section in a different position higher up the neck, and it just didn't feel quite right. All the notes were right, but it felt weird. The way you showed it appears to be much easier and the flow seems much more natural. I appreciate all you do, keep up the great work. I just saw them in Chattanooga on May 10th, it was an awesome show. How about Faith in the near future?

the only issue I have is the drop you explain that's from 20 to 8. I hear him jumping from the 20 on b to 12 on G then slide down to 5, then 4, 5/7. side note: as I finish typing this I notice my single version says Carpenter Brut Remix. Im going to have to look him up now.

Hey Uncle Ben. Got a question for you here. I assume that your technique before cracking the code was different from your current technique. So my question is, When you became aware of downward pick slanting how long did it take you to master the technique to the point where you could play pentatonic licks in the style of Eric Johnson? Do you have any advice to be able to play these kinds of licks? Right now I'm practicing just two notes per string in no particular scale and just ascending and picking every note to get the technique down, I sense some speed but when I try to go fast it gets sloppy.
