@@jazzydls i hadn’t played sims 4 in a while and just got a new Mac book pro so I went to download origin and when I opened it they said I needed to download the ea app so I did that once I got in the ea app I went to the settings and changed the download location of games to the hardrive then I changed then changed the hardrive to APFS (like in the video) then downloaded sims 4 on ea to the hardrive (just make sure your computer is updated and In your settings allow full access to you disk before you download cause I struggle figuring what was wrong cause I kept getting a error while downloading)then I kinda just followed the video to move my electronics arts folder to the drive and all my mods and cc I just keep them on the drive also .(you can do the hardrive trick with stuff on the hardrive just make sure you move your stuff somewhere before you change the drive to a APFS cause it will erase it then just put it back after you change you can still have sims 4 on the drive and have other stuff on the hardrive cause I didn’t have money for too hardrives)💀srry that’s a lot info
Thank youuu!!! I thought I was missing something but I just reinstalled the game to my Mac to actually create an electronic arts folder. Started the game. Exited deleted It from my computer. And reinstalled on my ssd followed each step and It fixed It! Thank you!!
thank you I held off for months because I felt I would mess up not be able to fix it. well I did it and with the EA app following your instructions. I did come across the EA app going on hard drive problem for me. I had to restart a few times and repair my file. I think my issue was the drive being HDD and not SDD but with 5tb I was determined for it to work. any. body with issue on that part yes it a pain but don't give up.

damn. EA just forced me to download EA App and I keep getting the " Unable to start. Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Please repair or reinstall the game via Origin." I am so miserable. The game simply will not open.
Hey I got all the way to the step of re downloading the game back on the hard drive but every time I go to try and play the game it bounces back to the ea app pleaseeee help.
I’m not able to use orgin they are saying I must upgrade to EA 😫😫 last time I upgraded it messed up everything I had to factory reset my Mac I was able to do this with orgin what about EA?
This video was very helpful! I followed everything you and bluebellflora did. The only issue I am having is my game is creating a new Electronic Arts folder in my documents, instead of reading the EA folder that is on my external drive. I have the alias EA folder with the little black arrow also in my documents, so I don’t understand why it isn’t reading that. Please help 🫣😭
Has anyone faced the issue of the simlink suddenly not working? All of a sudden my game refuses to load, the sims 4 window doesn't even pop open after I've pressed play on the EA app. It never did this on origin and I've been playing on the EA app for a few months now. This just happened 2 days ago and for the life of me I don't know why. Bluebellflora is also not around to answer questions. Idk where to go atp :(
Please, after I start downloading on the new hardisk it say: EA APP authorization needed go to Privacy and Security. I go there allow EA but the download stop. What I messed up?
Sorry I do have it I was pressing on the wrong thing my issues is when I press Erase it does not erase it says “operation failed” I’m not really sure why is there anything I can do or that I’m missing ?
I have tried your method and everything transferred over except the sims 4 folder is still in documents and won't move over to my hard drive...It will say Electronic Arts then when I click it just blank does't have The Sims 4 folder with all the additional folders that come inside it and there is no arrow on the one in my documents either so I'm confused and I have been trying to do this for about 4 days I'm so stressed out
@@kymilanoo5884did you copy the whole folder? im wondering if its an issue with my terminal because after the first command it keeps saying “directory not empty”. im about to try what you said tho
