Let's keep it 💯, this is perfect for a mid-aged, broke-ass, old school arcade gamer who wants to have an as close to legit arcade gaming setup. I'd rather have this than other, non arcade styled setups. You can customize this in so many ways. Also here for the thumb-butt.
I have the Legends Pinball and the Gamer Pro. Swap the USB drive from one to the other and it just works. CoinOpsX on the pinball is awesome for vertical shmups!
I integrated all the saUCEs on one 256gb SSD and it runs a little smoother through the animations and videos. Thanks for this video bro. It gives me a link for my friends that want me to make theirs!👌👍
@@IamLegend32 Not with the SSD, but it did on my 1st attempt with a Flash Drive. It's smooth with the ext SSD. A bigger issue honestly is that it's too bulky, So I trimmed down the playlists to be more user friendly
@@DrVernSFC ah ok, that makes sense. Maybe you already thought of this.. but if the ssd is too bulky, you can get a USB extender and just use double side tape to tape the ssd to the side of the cabinet.
@@IamLegend32 The SSD is really small, I keep it tucked Between the Cabinet and the Artwork, totally out of sight. I meant the CoinopsX Playlists are too bulky (too many of them) when combined. So I removed several of them for a smoother experience. I only removed repetitive titles/playlists. Just some editing really
You are my hero. This was explained beautifully to someone who had no idea it was possible. I did have to download the "Still Alive Saucy Edition" as I only did the regular one and I was having trouble scrolling through the games that started with the same letter. So, after all that I also downloaded the new firmware (chose 5.3) to be safe as I was not sure if I could just jump to the 5.6 one initially. But now, I am able to do it all on my legends ultimate mini and thanks to you fine explanation everything turned out great! Thank you!
Enjoy your channel all the time. I used this video to mod four Atgames Legend Core units as groomsmen gifts for my video game themed wedding this week. Thanks for all the tutorials and commentary!
Couple of things I noticed during this is you don't need to allocate 16gb to the initial partition, you can do less. Considering how old these systems are I doubt the pagefile sizes are even large at all. Second, *use the USB ports on your motherboard for the fastest speeds!* The speed on the front of your PC are dedicated for a convivence feature by the case manufacturer, where you typically see ~30-35/mbs on usb 3.0. Again, these high-speed ports are located on the back of your PC and colored blue or red, not on the front of your PC case.
This just might be the final cabinet for me. No more arcade 1UPs, unless it’s an absolute must have for the actual cabinet art itself. Star Wars was one of those for me, but this will have it all. Good scale for the 1UPs too. That coinopsx is awesome! I’m not seeing primal rage 1 or 2 on the list for some reason. Always been a problem with primal rage arcade roms it seems. Would anyone have an answer or solution to that? I have a primal rage cabinet here that weighs a ton and might need a cap kit to get it going again, but would be nice to get it going on the atgames mini.
Big fan Madpixel! Thanks for al the amazing content. One question, My trackball is not woking...any tips getting the tack ball dialed in for this build?
great tutorial thanks! I was able to set up everything follow the instructions. couple things, 1. I used the recommended USB drive 2. used on the machine purchased from Sams on sale in Dec, I believe it's an AtGames Legends Ultimate 3. I downloaded the AddOnX tool from atgames website, under "Release Notes" section 4. this is critical, I do NOT need to do 2 partitions, I actually got this error "The FlashDriveX function is not currently enabled as AppStoreX games and gamepacks are directly downloaded on internal storage". After delete the partition, the error was gone hopefully this helps!
Was that the only thing you do different? My ALU is also new that has the internal storage but I keep getting error messages. I’m Thinking of redoing it with another usb
This is amazing! I recently picked this up for 30 bucks and was wondering if it could be hacked then I found your video! I was able to get it all working but was wondering now how to add console games into the mix like NES, SNES, Genesis etc
Love the video, explained very well! Do you need to unmount the usb whenever you’re ready to shut down your ultimate arcade? And do you need to re-mount the usb when you turn your arcade back on for the coin ops x to work? Or once you format and mount your usb and download coin ops that’s all you have to do and it will boot up every time you power up your arcade? Thanks in advance!
Great help!! Question for console games: Would I want to add the console UCE's to the "arcade" folder, or should I make a new folder for whichever system it is?
@@TheJosuecivic I don't recall exactly, but I believe it didn't work for folders that I made, even if I ran it through the program that you're supposed to before plugging the flash drive in. Whatever source I downloaded had all the game and system folders already created, and adding to those worked though.
Maybe I miss it at the end. This build that you were working since the the beginning as far as I can see by looking at my folder only have arcade games but no consoles games like NES, SNES SEGA, etc, how is it that when you boot the usb drive into the cabinet you have arcades and consoles games ,how I can do that , how can I add consoles games like you have ,thanks
Wow bro!!! I love it!!! Thank You. Mine took forever to download CoonOps but finally got it to work. I want to add console systems as well. How do I do that?
This is awesome! I need to get me one of these but with at least 2 player controls and add all these games. I need a one and done arcade. I don't have a bunch of room for all those Arcade1ups. I have the TMNT Arcade1up but I'm not trying to spend $700 which is how much they're going for now.
noticed this build doesnt seem to have the button fix files for street figther games like the previous versions had?? unless i missed something somewhere? seems like all of the 6 button games suffer from having the wrong button layouts that was previously fixed?
Hey! I'm trying to follow along to this, but I noticed that the Coinopsx files for install were updated to be "full fixed build" which differs from what you have. Do you have another tutorial on this as I'm confused as to how to proceed - or can I adapt it somehow to what you're doing now? I'll still review but figured I'd ask. Thanks! (FYI - I'm trying to put this together for an AtGames Legend Pro - so i'm hoping this can all be put on one USB as i assume this is what you're doing in the video)
Yoooooo! So i installed the coinops x on the legends gamer pro, it seems u need to be connected to the internet to use it? Is that the case? Like it gives you 5 credits or something? Could you explain how that works? Hopefully u or someone could help a confused nerd out, thanks brotha.
I am not good at the things you showed here, do you sell flash drives all set with all these games, and I love playing( Creep Night pinball from SIERPA) any way I could get this pin Ball game to run on my Legends Ultimate. thank you for any help you can give me.
Metal slug runs a little slow. A few other games as well. Does anyone else have this issue? Coin ops X is great by the way. Version 5. New legends ultimate got this Christmas by the way.
I have a Windows 7 that's showing its age and I am in need of a new computer and I am debating between Windows 10 or 11. Does AddonX work on Windows 11?
hello there i have a big question can it also add atari, nes, snes, genesis which there come from consle in all and even more console if that's possible?
Another question can you have 2 builds plugged in thru a usb hub. And how would that work can you switch between the 2 or you have to unmount and mount each one at a time.
@@braydenb1581 Hope it works for you Brother. It really makes the Legends Ultimate a very good gaming cabinet. Well worth the money IMO. Many of the great games are already configured to use the track ball, spinner, or other controls.
@@retromarine7701 I'm trying it in ten minutes. Pretty excited. Thanks for the video. You mention you can add more games, how do u do that? Just drop more roms
@@braydenb1581 Good Luck. I haven't tried to add any new games. I've just played the arcade games on it. I think you'll like the way they're categorized for track ball, spinner, etc. Try it out. It's the way they were played in the arcade.
When in Computer Management you better make darn sure you are setting up the correct drive! Like if you have a secondary hard drive used to store data or whatever it would suck to format it by mistake!
Can you add more uce files later then run the add on tool again. If so. will it go thru the whole process of building all the games again or just build on the games you add.
great video! new to the LUA, but for some reason the mapping on a bunch of games is off ( notably fighting)...is there a way to fix this easily? The button mapping interface is a bit confusing.
Most of my games don't work anymore. I factory reset my cabinet. I deleted the build and installed it again. Half the games still aren't working. Anyone else experiencing this?
hi. i just got the legends mini. i want to build it for mame . specifically for shmups. the newer better ones than what atgames gives us. i want to play darius, akai katana, espgaluda, deathsmiles, dodonpachi. etc. is it possible to add mame emulator and load it with roms to the legends mini?? i also want stuff like marvel vs cap 2 etc. what should i do?
I used a 128GB USB DataTraveler Exodia and my Legends Gamer Mini doesn't detect it. I tried a few others I have and none of them work. I bought it second hand, is it possible the usb port is faulty?
The artwork isn't showing on the main page, just a blank cabinet and white font for game titles. Games work but missing that sweet looking home page. I followed your vid 100% so I'm hoping for a little push in the right direction to get it working. Thanks, this is fantastic btw! :) Also just tried the Daphne games and they won't start.
I had this same issue. Check the folder structure when you unzip them to the flashdrive, there should be only 1 folder and then the files. Sometimes when you unzip, there's a folder and a subfolder with the same name and that's what causes the artwork, logos, and video not to show. Make sure there is one then you build it in addonX
Did everything as instructed with the new fixed build but after installin coin ops x app on drive it will say no coinopsx file found please check usb drive and try again. Have rebooted multiple times as well as unmount and mount again. Any help?
you say reboot your legends device? I have unplugged it and turned it back on several times but still getting an error saying "no coin ops file found". Is there a way to "reboot" that i am not aware of?
i just ordered the mini . it was on 45 at gamestop. im gonna give this a try. any chance of a adding mame roms to this . i want to play akai katana on it. i think it would be a good video because gamestop had alot of the mini and sold out. theres gonna be a lot of noobs who need a good adding roms vid. i seriously got this for shmups
I got mine a few days ago for the same price and used trade credit so it was essentially free and I freaking love this thing but prob will add this coin ops thing looks neat!
Same. I have a Sega Genesis mini built from a raspberry pi, but I would love to have the behemoth 2 player cabinet and use two more wireless controllers, but have no space for it.
after I "delete volume", I'm not able to go back in and make the 2 partitions. In fact, I'm not able to access the thumb drive. It did this to 2 separate thumb drives. PC makes the sound when I plug in or remove the thumb drives. I'm just not able to access the thumb drive itself. Windows sees it but there are no properties and the renamed thumb drive is blank. Returned both thumb drives to the store and I'm nervous about starting again. I don't want to brick a 3rd and 4th thumb drive. I'm using PNY 3.0 126 gb thumb drive... any suggestions???
Can anyone tell me on my Atgames Legends pinball with control panel add on what it will take to play for example pac-man as a 2, 3 or 4 player game. Any add on? Or do I need to buy atgames gamer pro? And yes, I do have coinops sauces installed. Thanks for any help?
HELLLOOOO! I just bought this system new at Sam's Club. It won't connect to WIFI- I've even done the firmware update via thumb drive. Is there anything else I can do? I really need help please!!!!! PS Other devices in my home can to connect. Thanks so much!
The Arcade1Up? If so its possible, but not natively like this machine. The Arcade1Ups essentially people use them as a shell for something else like a Raspberry Pi or other small computer type of device to run a ton more games. But keeping the system whole I am not aware of a way to add games to those machines.
About 30mins into my AddonXtool building the window just goes away. Take my flash drive out put in my cab & pops up message saying error reading AddonX files run AddonX tool again. Done ran it 3 times & as always gets about 30mins in & window goes away. Any ideas?
Mr Pixel, would it be possible for you to DM me a link to the Coinops download you used? I'm trying to download it from one place but it's throttling my download and going to take far too long.
This is an awesome tutorial. I sure want to go and play some of those Retro games. The dumb developers should create this type of system and sell it. I'd buy them all, but they are just dumb.
Anyone know why I can’t delete the volume on my brand new 128 gun sandisk usb disk? I am using windows 7 pro. Prevents me from trying out coinops on my ALU
Is this build not intended for the Legends Gamer Mini? It seems to be very unstable and the drive seems to unmount itself. I bought the usb drive you recommended.
Works perfectly on the Mini I have, plugged in to the 2nd usb port never had issues. I did notice issues running it on the Legends Ultimate when I had it plugged into a usb hub, but when plugged directly into the machine i didnt have a problem. I cannot speak for every game working but everything ive tried was fine.
@@Madlittlepixel i guess i should have specified. I am using the at games puck thing with the legend gamers mini joystick. No cabinet, and only one usb port.
@@fireproofneo ah i misread, but ive used it on the gamer mini without an issue, recorded some footage here using it but havent played it a lot this way as i use the arcade machines more so than the puck
@@Madlittlepixel it seems to be fine now. I wonder if I just needed to let the usb drive cool. Thank you for the help and putting this video together! You are the man!
@@bozolozo21 do you know what format the partition is for the coinopsx build? If its exfat should be fine. Otherwise worse case is wiping the partition and rebuilding coinopsx. On my ultimate I have no issue, i use a usb hub plugged into the left most port with the coinops drive plugged into it plus the bitpixel marquee without issue. Before doing anything drastic like rebuilding, if you havent already unmount the drive remove it and plug it into the other port then mount and try again.
Are you using the same coinops build as shown here? If you are using a build of coinopsx made for a 1.0 cabinet it will not work on the newer revisions I'm told
