A thing I've never got with the Drop Pods is, all the lore and such about them flat out states they're basically orbital bombardment fired straight into enemy formations and positions with the Astartes flying out of it like angry shrapnel... But you can't do this on tabletop.

The fly rules we've seen from the leaks are very specific: - You can move over models. - You measure movement diagonally IF you are starting or ending your movement ON a terrain feature. In other words: if you want to try to jump completely over a ruin like you used to be able to do, you have to measure your total vertical distance up and down + your total horizontal distance just like any non-fly model. You only get to do the special diagonal measurement if you are starting or ending on the ruin. So if you want to have any movement advantage over a normal model, you have to basically start on the ruin already, or end with the back of your base touching the ruin that you're jumping over.

D1 does not exist. D3 means you roll a six sided die (called a D6 in the rules), and half the result rounding up, so a roll of 1 or a 2 = 1, a 3 or 4 = 2, and 5 or 6 = 3. If you have something like D3 +1, than you roll the six sided die, half the result rounding up, then add 1 to the result. Example of D3 +1: you roll a 3, which becomes a "2" on a D3, then add 1, so your final result is "3".

Wait a minute, if I have to climb on 6" height in ruins to get -1 AP bonus That means I can't do it without advancing cuz move of my foot troops is 6"?

Yes, usually - it'd usually affect things that already deployed up there in practice I suspect. e.g. Sniper units, Devastators and things.

2 things that aren't clear to me. For flying units, if you want to fly over a building (start from ground level and end on ground level), you still mearure vertically, twice diagonaly? How does it work? For the desperate fall back, if you are battleshocked and have to move through enemy units, do you take 2 tests per model?

The fact that they've been using Fly as a proxy for teleport moves (as seen with the GK warp shunt, and probably the Warp Spiders and other corner cases) is going to require rules patches in the future when they eventually address real close quarters battles inside buildings and starships and the like. Walls, locked doors and low ceilings do not affect teleportation the same way they do jump troops and flyers. Lazy game design that future staffers will be be cursing at.
