Thank you! I like to think of Weiss as a hidden gem in the card game world :) But there are definitely upsides to a smaller community versus a larger one. That said, I'd still love to see it grow!
They have terrible marketing. Don’t translate most of their decks/cards And they aren’t in big box stores. Not to mention the resale value on some of these cards.
I always come to this video and part 2 for refreshers, it's also what helped to rope my brother and my cousin in, now they love Weiss. Thanks fam, appreciate you
I am so happy you and Coco have returned you have inspired me to improve my deck overview videos and I have started doing that with a Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card deck video I also spend people I tech play Weiss Schwarz to your awesome channel
I remember picking up an intro Weiss deck when it first released from my LGS. Sadly they discontinued it due to lack of interest. After watching this video on how to play it, I ended up picking up a few more intro decks just to play with friends. Thanks for the videos on how to play it. Also Coco looks incredible snuggly
I’ve recently stumbled upon this game, and after seeing this video don’t get me wrong when I say I really want to play it now. I found this video very helpful and I’ll be for sure watching the rest plus the how to buy one again. Thanks for the great vids on this great new game I found!
0/10 too distracted by cat Real talk, even tho this is an old video I must thank you for this. Weiss seems confusing with all the mechanics and this helped clear it u0
Discovered 1 min ago on Card market, not gonna play it cuz I'm already busy with other games, but I'm gonna buy 1 box, and every single, of Overlord, my favourite anime, thanks Weiß Schwarz for this boost to my collection
Hi! New to this, so does that mean you can play against someone who’s using a different anime? For example hololive vs Mushoku Tensei? Is that tournament regulated as well?
Super helpful video! I'm going to my first Bushiroad event this weekend, and I figured I'd find out how to play some of their other games aside from Vanguard.
I really like the tutorial! Thank you for making the video. And to be honest this game costs much cheaper than YuGiOh and Magic, and that's the reason I come here to learn this game.
Thank you so much for this extremely well made tutorial!! My only critique (this could totally be just a me thing) is that during the practice game I would humbly ask you not do the super hand shuffle the entire game. My brain keeps getting distracted by the speedy hand movements in the background and it makes it hard for me to concentrate on your voice or even reading the words on the screen. This a very very minor detail for such a professionally made and cat-tastic tutorial.
I'm not going to lie, I bought a JoJo's Bizarre trial deck and a Love Live trial deck because I thought it would be funny to have stand users fight high school girls.
Bold of you to assume my favorite historical gacha game based on WW2 ships didn't get a set based on how that the other historical gacha game baded on WW2 JAPANESE ships got a set and that set was released and what do men love more than Idols? SHIPS! WW2 ships. Yeah so AZUR LANE and DRAGON MAID dragged me here and one of my friends mentioning this card guy with a cat. Sum-up, thank you for the lesson! 😊
I feel so dumb lol. So like, because I live in Japan I've only ever seen the Japanese version of the cards and my dumb butt thought they didn't have English ones so I'm like, huh weird but maybe its not popular outside Japan? I finally do some digging because even just collecting these is my aesthetic tbh and whoop-de-doo turns out there's English ones. Of COURSE there's English ones why wouldn't there be xD Just, yeah, I feel stupid. Great vid tho, thanks!
nah there are many games that dont get a translation that isnt really being dumb and bushiroad is realy bad at marketing outside of japan i only knew 2 shops that sold vanguard cards and only one that sells some weiss schwarz packs
been curious about this game for awhile, first heard about it when Vanguard came out and people were calling it "Weiss Schwarz light" that's kinda true, but one of the most important parts of that game is the guarding from hand, which is nowhere to be seen in this, the fact that you do damage even if you lose the following battle is very surprising to me, I guess it makes the large life total flow smoother, and yeah for almost the entire thing after you explained clocking and leveling up I thought there had to be some special deck out rule, you waited till the very end to say it so I almost thought for a bit that the game just became that fast paced in the middle-end game that you commonly ended the game with like 2 cards left in deck or something lol, anyways good tutorial, I definitely want to try this out at some point, sounds fun
We just got an Adventure Time series for Weiss Schwarz, so now it's more of a brand porn game, but in a great sense of the term. Now, I'm just hoping they eventually adapt Super Mario and Sonic.
This video was really helpful but I had some questions. Is there a set rotation for this game? Is there a ban list? Can I use Japanese cards if I’m playing the EN version?
No set rotation and there is a banlist/restriction list. As for Japanese and English cards mixing, depends, if you're playing at official tournaments then no, and for locals are dictated by the shop itself. Both JP and EN have different banlist/restrictions.
Me & one of My Closest Friends already play Yu-Gi-Oh! But I have been interested in Weiss Schwarz for some time & a couple of days ago I asked him if he wants to learn how to play it & he told me he has also been interested for quite a while so we're getting Trial Decks to learn how to play during lockdown I'm going to get Haruhi & he is getting Konosuba 🤩
@@ThreeSixCancel Thanks Dude we will! I purchased 1 Attack on Titan & 1 Haruhi pack back in 2017 within months of each other (Pulled a Resisting Fate Eren Special Card) & buying those got me interested to play it, But it's only just now that I've decided to properly commit to wanting to learn it I hope we can both be as good at Weiss Schwarz as we are with Yu-Gi-Oh! ^^
@@ThreeSixCancel So I was able to get Haruhi & unfortunately My Close Friend wasn't able to get either Konosuba or Kantai Collection so he got Goblin Slayer & Re: Zero instead 🙂 He is also getting one of His Friends to play it as well which is why he purchased 2 Trial Decks Our Trial Decks should hopefully both get here by Thursday 14th May but with everything going on right now they might possibly be delayed I am currently taking down notes from these tutorials so I can be extra prepared for when the Deck arrives ^^
I am new to this game just wanna ask does continuous ability last both your turn and opponent turn if not specified? E.g Your characters in front of this card gain X power.
I just found out this game exists today. Apparently, there's only 6 stores in my country that sell it. No wonder I never saw it before. And there's hardly anything in stock. EDIT: After googling, turns out only 2 of the 6 stores listed on the official site still sell it.
What country are you in? Anyways, yea, this is going to be one of those games where you'll need to take the bull by the horns and create your own local scene. As far as stores selling it, that's not a problem as you can order online, although depending where you live the shipping and sales tax might be brutal.
I've just started trying out Weiss and I really like it so far. I just have a question that by sheer chance came up, if you take damage from an attack, lets just say you have 6 cards in your clock and take 1 soul damage from an attack, but that card is the last card in your deck, what do you do first? Do you reshuffle your deck and then put a card into your level and the other 6 into your waiting room, or do you do this first and then reshuffle your deck, putting the 6 cards from your clock back into the deck right as it gets reshuffled? Any help is appreciated!
The short answer is that you can do either one, shuffle your deck, or level up, in any order you want when you find yourself in that specific state. For a more in depth answer, and some other cool tips, check out the video I made much earlier about refreshing! It's a bit older, but the tips still hold true! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4emj8ells0k.html
Right?! If the game was more popular there would be more product, which would mean that the product would be easier to find, and therefore less expensive. Cardfight Vanguard was the same way for the first few years when it released. It's been 11 years since the first product for Weiss Schwarz released, so I don't think this game will ever be popular enough sadly.
The problem is this card is also collectible for people that doesn't play the game. Many people collect the signed cards just for display and doesn't play the game.
@@akaniichan Yeah I can see the appeal for collectors since there's a ton of anime being represented in this game. Ultimately the main reason It's expensive is that It's not popular enough. There's a lot less product being producted because of that, so the products run out faster, making them harder to find, and that causes an increase in price for the product.
A 20 dollar intro price is pretty cheap considering. As for singles. I haven't seen much of an issue for those. It isn't like the specials are costing 200-300 bucks each.
what happens when you do over damage, like if they have 5 on the clock and you do 4? Do they just pick 2 from the hand and the rest goes to the waiting room and then they level up?
@@ariaakee o ofc i dont play meta as much as i used back in 2018/19 now i play rouge because of how great it feels to blow out some of the meta decks this format with a rouge combo deck... my favorite decks is lunalight orcust and trickstars back when they were full power... rn im playing world chalice guardragon and skystriker
There's certainly nothing stopping you from physically putting the card in the deck. But I'll be up front and tell you that the sets aren't designed to play together. They're not balanced to play with each other, and many of the cards just don't work with other cards outside their series. Even for casual tabletop play, yes, you could have your friends build mixed decks and probably have fun, but it wouldn't really be 'Weiss' at that point since the rules would kind of break down. I'd recommend part 4 of this playlist for more info! It has some FAQs about what's legal/recommended to build a deck!
25:20 Wait, I thought Front Attacks only damaged the character they’re fighting. How did you deal damage to your opponent and fight the character at the same time?
If you defeat the character, you get to damage your opponent as well. Re-watch the explanation of the attack phase/trigger phase if you didn't catch it the first time.
Characters don't have health bars. All attacks do damage to the opponent as long as you have enough soul (side attacks might not do damage). Even if you are attacking a character with higher power, you will still do damage. Having higher power just determines who survives the fight.
so imma guess that there's already card effects that can force a player to go up a level, please tell me if this is true and what the wording is and what cards these effects are on?
Yes it does exist as a costs for the player playing the effect. But, AFAIK there are no cards that can force level your opponent. If you want to know what cards that has the cost of leveling yourself up, from the top of my head, slime isekai's volume 1 level 2 ifrit and konosuba's vol1 level 1 yellow event
Me trying to learn pokemon, yugioh, magic, dragon ball, and now this in one night while learning i can battle waifus and my waifu is in the game: Strokes/sezures of joy!
There are some sets that are definitely more updated in terms of their toolkit than others, but overall, Weiss is a pretty balanced game! So while there are meta decks that people go to for tournaments if they're dead set on winning, you'll never get 'blown out' or totally outclassed by choosing a certain set. The tournament results I studied in video 4: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rWRw-zBb9E8.html Kind of demonstrate this. In short, just about every set in Weiss can hold its own against others. Except Accel World set 1. Don't play that set.
"you don't know what Weiss Schwarz is do you?" i have NO CLUE whatsoever other than there is RWBY cards. What is this? How does this work? Teach me, Sensei
I'm group 3: I have no idea what this game is but I plan on collecting them like pokemon cards and the reason I'm here is because I can't pronounce the title.
about copyright infringement. does Bushiroad have the right to use other RIGHT to make card game. I can totally understand that Weiss Schwarz never release video because surely it will break the RIGHT.
gad damn bushiroad this shit is just like cardfight vanguard just more rules this is stupid but the fact that i got so many wifu makes me want to play this shit.......
"we assume that you dont know much about the game at all" yeah i just watched the official tutorial and they didnt explain deeper mechanics then attack goes brrr
