uhm... why you didnt replace worn rattle, for illustration "Turbo Wastegate Rattle Flapper Repair Kit 03C145702L For VW Golf Jetta Passat" ... ? instead of change of replaceable part you made irreversible intervention into turbo chassis ... i like your solution because is a cheapest but how long it last? thx

What would u honestly recommend which part of the wastegate on an sti vf39 Turbo, to port. Thanks meantime bud

Why don't you weld that flap shut. And then pipe in a external waste gate that's bigger.

gr8bart1 I don’t own a welder. This is just alot quicker, cheaper and easier. External would be ideal but not at the moment.

gr8bart1 I was just gonna message the same thing, just bring the turbo to any exhaust shop and tell them to weld it shut, probably only cost you 15$ in labour

Martin from Rs-entholpy told me the some exact thing on my KA-T. I was getting a fuel cut at 5k rpm. I send him pics he told me I was off on timing too. I fixed it and the problem went away but I felt no power. Ended up blowing my rings

What size dump pipe are you using with the 3 inch exhaust?

Literally did that today on my ka. Same turbo. Was spiking at 14psi. After the port job brought it down to 6lbs exactly. Made the actuator a little tighter but stayed at 6. Have you been able to turn it up?

ya i tightened down the waste gate about 3/4 of the way and got it to around 11 PSI then got it up to 15 with my boost controller.

BuiltLikeThis tightened mine down but only got up to 8. I need a boost controller to get it to 11. What boost controlller you running and how is it setup

ACEofCLUBZ101 damn. Im using a hallman because its a no leak system. So its supposed to build boost faster than a bleeder style. And you just put it in between the line from your turbo to your wastegate.

So you have a 6 psi actuator and it was shooting 16 psi.. cuz i have the same issue.. i havea 4 psi wastegate actuator and after 5k rpms it start building psi like 5 6 7 8 and it goes all the way to 14psi.. dont know whats the problem..

Is your actuator vacuum line getting kinked or have a leak so it's not reading boost?

Only one headlight is on probably because of day time running module. Usually a circuit that inst good anymore after age.
