❤ I spotted this a couple of weeks ago and it was really helpful. I’d been searching for it since as trying again on a failed project (watched way too many complicated vids and unrelated to just go into history ) thank you ❤
For noobs like me: When you want to move the individual bones, make sure that you put the object into edit mode. Ran into this problem twice while following the tutorial step by step, so just in case it helps anyone ;D
blender.stackexchange.com/questions/43878/cant-scale-whats-wrong might help! Something may have been locked accidentally. Are you clicking and dragging on the white circle that appears?
@@iPaintSmallThings thank you for your reply, I'll keep having a play with it. mine definitely has a bit more work to it, cos I'm rescaling an ork mini for 40k and their skeletons are in different proportions to humies! :D
My guess is that there was an issue when you linked both of them. Did you select the legs first before parenting to the armature with deform w/automatic weights?
@@iPaintSmallThings I was having a similar issue with me not being able to select the model and then the armature I could only select both at one time or just one.
@@bradoman5496 you could try to select the objects in the drop down menu in the top right corner of the screen. I believe you can select different objects with control clicking in the list.
@@bradoman5496 Apparently if you parented correctly and it doesn't work as expected it can because of a "bad" mesh. (this is from a google post a hot minute ago so results may vary) select your model > Go into Edit mode > right click > merge vertices > merge by distance.
With the armature selected, go into the "object data properties" tab on the right (looks like a stick figure), go to viewport display, and then uncheck the "in front" box!
@@regular_mason8082 hmm... are you trying to select bones to parent in edit or pose mode? You have to be in object mode-- that's the only thing I can think of!
