As someone that's done commercial development inspections from the materials side, these guys clearly do top notch residential work. This 3 video series shows a caliber of professionalism to strive towards. Literally everything I saw was amazingly done. The material removal, subgrade earthwork, reinforcement layout, framing/forming, placement, finishing, brickwork... about the only thing you can't confirm is whether the air content of the mix design was on point. Amazing work guys, great job, awesome video!

I’ve been waiting for the final part on this job! It’s one thing for a job to look good when you leave site, but only someone with experience would know to edge the mortar to concrete joins - and that will ensure it looks good in the future. Great work!

After I had my lumpy asphalt driveway removed and replaced with quality concrete six feet wider on both sides I now have the nicest looking home in my neighborhood.

I hope people who think a quote for this type of job is too much are watching. It's very labour intensive laying brick ribbons and getting a nice (and proper) finish on the grout.

Should allways lay the brick next to the hole first dry and then gauge the width of the joints, you can tweak em left or right a little to suite the length of the hole.

i have done some side walks similar to that but i filled it with black star gravel

Did you go back and cut lines into the concrete to prevent cracking? Or does the size of the slabs make that unnecessary

Great job lads, I would have put the brick border across the garage door and end of drive as well if it was my property.

Should have taken the forms out the day of the pour. Well atleast thats what we would do. Its easier and you can reuse the wood. But it looks nice.

the brick inlay looks really good. Does the inlay act as the control joint?

how much did this cost? I would like to have a ballpark so that i can save up. my drive way is about the same size.

What do you do for control joints to help control cracking in the slab?

VERY impressive, as usual. Any reason why one couldn't use full bricks and a deeper inlay/thicker, base concrete placement, instead of cutting them in half? I'm thinking more of a walkway and steps for my application. Many thanks!!!

I love the idea of this being a monolithic pour. Because you're right, the brick wouldn't support the weight placed over it as well otherwise. Great foundation engineering.

For your type S,grout do you mix the type S mortar with sand, and if you do what is your ratio of sand to mortar?

This is Exactly what I've envisioned for my gravel driveway. Think I'd prefer a chipped slate imprint in the cement, or even a bit of grass showing thru. Need extra drainage here, even w/ installed french drain. Permeable skeleton not quite the fix. My city street is Brick so love the look & can curve where I need to. Thx.

A bit more calculation and it would have been perfect, please calculate bricks within the line to get proper voids ->no cuts/ half bricks. It would annoy me like hell every day I walk on it.

Why no mudding the Bricks before laying? It would negate the need for grout. It is just like laying facial treads on a set of steps

your men dont know brick work, they are good for stop gap work or filler based work but none are brick experts

Looks good, kinda surprised of scabbing a piece of brick instead of laying all your brick out dry first so you end up with all full pieces of brick. All your work looks great I’m just surprised you guys did that. I’m not a mason either so I don’t really have the right to say, just as contractor I’ve always masons where I live lay brick out dry first

Did you wet the brick prior to setting?

Is it possible to retrofit a brick inlay with good results? As in, cutting channels into existing concrete pads to install the pavers? Or is this something that needs to be planned when the concrete goes in?

Good job bro as always.but it kills me that people mix brick with concrete.that brick will crack way before that concrete will.
