That nice funnel that threads/fits so nicely into the oil fill hole is key also. Trying to fumble around pouring and holding the funnel is always a good recipe for a mess

Totally agree... I'm terrible for finding "just the right tool"... I did buy a few funnels before I found the right one for the Jeep and I've got a totally different one that I bought for the bike 😁

Good job for sharing, I'm on board been doing it the same way for decades, made a mess a few times when young and learned to do it same as you share here. Cheers

I'm a really big fan of shopping around until I find just the right tool. I normally buy funnels that are just the right size to bite into the thread in the filler neck. I bought a few that looked right before I found that one and I've got another totally different one for the motorbike 😁

Look at the quart bottle There's usually a little picture right on the bottle showing how to pour it

If people can't figure this out through experience, shame on them, and shame on you for thinking others are this stupid.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way mate. My point of view is that there are a lot of new people trying to get into this sort of thing and getting out into the workshop is a relatively rare thing these days, so I think that giving people advice based on my experience is a benefit.
