It's finally here...both PREPTOBER 2023 (oh my god!!) and my video on John Truby's newest book, the Anatomy of Genres! After reading (most) of it and playing around with the story beats myself, here is a potential process you can follow to use Anatomy of Genres to enhance your NaNoWriMo story.

i loved video. Please do more videos on anatomy of genres...watching this videos is so inspiring to write. And also i have a doubt.is desire line of the hero decides the primary genre of story..is that the way to identify the genre.can u help me out?

Hmm I think there are multiple factors that go into deciding the primary genre and I am by no means an expert. The hero's desire line is a great clue, I also think the writer can make some executive decisions here: what do you want to focus on? What will the majority of the book be about, the overarching question? This is a great question though and I'm going to dig more into it

Hi, Everybody. I never write, but my wife does. She particiaptes in Nanowrimo every year. Do you have any writting related suggestions what could I do to support her. Really any suggestions are welcome, what are the biggest strugles durring nanowrimo? What is that you wish you had to make your life easier?

Hey there! I asked the community about this and I think there's three big things 1) Helping to create time for writing by offering to take over some meals/obligations 2) Helping to guard that writing time by minimizing distractions, 3) being willing to hear us talk about our books...a lot 😂 From blairwilde: It's very helpful for me when I say I'm writing that my family doesn't bother me, this lets me stay focused. From angiechoiniere3479: My husband supports me with all my meals and coffee. He also let's me verbally work out some issues that are bugging me.
