BTW the antioxidant im referring to at the end of the video is retinol! you can use retinoids on the body, just be super careful about scheduling, and take them out of your routine 1-2 weeks before waxing ; )
Replayed this so many times in the past day! Love the aesthetic, and, as always, how clear and informative your videos are! Always my no. 1 self care motivation
very needed video! please do more in-depth explanation on acids and if you can, a sensitive-skin targeted waxing video/routine. whilst i have a high pain tolerance in most places, i have sensitive skin susceptible to even certain gentle chemicals burning me. also, how do you psych yourself up to do your own brazilian? i've attempted it on myself (absolutely failed and hurt so bad even with exfoliation), and had it done a few times with an aesthetician and the pain experience was significantly different.
sure, thatd be a great idea. And absolutely! Despite me knowing thats its really not as bad as im expecting, i still procrastinate sometimes. having an aesthetician do it is always top-tier because remember they do this all day long! its the most popular service and they’re very experienced were as when doing it yourself, you hesitate & often tense up. not to mention another person is going to be able to reach certain areas easier than you giving them more wrist mobility where you may not so if you don’t pull at the right angle or don’t hold the skin tight enough, you can be inflicting more pain on yourself. u may also possibly take larger sections where they’re taking smaller sections….the list goes on! so if you’re finding that you have a better experience going to a professional, there’s nothing wrong with continuing to do so if that’s best for u. in fact, i encourage it.
@@abetweene thanks ariane! i really appreciate the thorough response. i also definitely tense up 😅🤣 i want to get my aesthetician certification too JUST for this purpose 'cause dem coins do add up. thanks for sharing your knowledge and inspiring others that there is always a way to DIY.
Late comment haha but I’m very much a visual learner so the calendar graphic is SO HELPFUL. I’ve severely messed up my legs with waxing before because I didn’t do any of my routine right so I’m going to try again with the right routine this time lol 😭
I’ve been looking for some good chemical exfoliants for the skin so this is perfect! Definitely craving these products! ❤ also do you recommend dry brushing?
Thank you for this. Just getting into sugar waxing because of you and I’m learning so much. Would you consider doing an in depth pre-waxing regiment too? Or is this the same you would do before sugaring on an area you haven’t waxed before. Love your videos!
Are you able to name and list all the products you use in this video please? And for which skin types each one is best for? It looks like a few of these could really help me as I have KP. I visited your inventory but couldn’t see all the products on there. Thank youu!!
Would you maybe share your waxing routine as well? For different body parts? Like how often you sugar legs, arms, Brazilian etc? And what do you do between waxes, when your hair is already growing back but not long enough to wax? How do you deal with that especially in the summer?my hair starts growing back in about 10 days but not long enough to sugar..
Do you think exfoliating everyday is bad? Like for instance using a exfoliating rag everyday and/ or using a salicylic acid body wash on a daily basis? I’m not sure if me exfoliating too often before , while and after the hair grows out causes my ingrowns. I love your content I learn so much!!
yes, its not a good idea. a washcloth is fine but a textured rag rough enough to manually remove dead skin is too much for daily use. same for aha & bha. anything in excess can become bad for you. by not giving your skin time to rest & recover, u cause non-stop irritation.
Yes i have a question; isn´t where you have plugged the hair out basically a tiny open wound in the skin? I´ve always thought it would be better to not put any product on directly after sugaring. Only hours later or the next day so the pore can close and won´t be clogged immediately with product. That always made the most sense to me, what do you think about that? 😅
applying a soothing agent or moisturizer immediately after is fine. especially since you’ve stripped it of its natural oils and disrupted the microbiome. this is why i keep my moisturizer simple by just using oil (and avoid lotions or creams with added fragrance and possible irritants). the glands within the follicle producing sebum need that tunnel to remain open, so it can escape & reach the surface, so the pore doesnt close. any wound that may be sustained would be within the follicle and not to the surface of the skin. basically you’re not creating an opening that wasn’t already there.
@@abetweene not for body hair for the hair on your head I'm trying to grow up my hair and I was wondering if you had any tips or tricks to grow out your hair naturally
just the usual. Retain the length u have so u see the growth by keeping the ends moisturized and/or protected, as well as the scalp. add rosemary to your scalp care/oil and massage for healthy blood flow.
Thank you so much for making this content! What is a weaker AHA / exfoliator that is safe for the pubic bone area? I’m worried about irritation so what do you think has the most natural ingredients too? Thanks
yw! lactic acid especially at a low percentage is gentle. mandelic acid or products with PHA are also. as far as ingredients you may like typology since most of its products have pretty high yuka scores
What about for just shaving? Do the steps apply? But in what order/what days do you do what? I've tried traditional and sugar waxing, but both have really burned and irritated my skin, so I can only do shaving. I wash with a textured scrubby shower glove and ontop of that, I sometimes use an AHA scrub a day or two before shaving. Should I be using an AHA & BHA before shaving or a day or two after? Right after shaving, is it best to apply something hydrating like a toner on damp skin, then a moisturizing cream/lotion?
No, dont use an aha/bha before you shave. it makes the skin more sensitive and dragging a razor across the skin even if it doesnt feel like it does irritate it, so u wanna let it rest for 1-3 days before using actives. How often do you shave? Yes, a hydrating toner + moisturizer would be great post shaving!
My guess would be that the technique wasn’t right, or that your exfoliation/hydration routine wasn’t routine enough. With sugaring, I’ve found that firmer wax pulls my hair out much more efficiently, instead of just breaking them off, so I don’t even bother heating it up now! Just spread on and flick off. :)
AHAs and BHAs are what i would reccommend, especially since pubic hair can be quite coarse, but alternatively you can try a keratolytic like urea cream, gentle manual exfoliation with a textured cloth, and epsom salt soaks.
yes! low percentage if youre sensitive and higher if your skin can tolerate it. glycolic is the strongest of the AHAS so if your skin is sensitive to it u can try lactic acid instead.
I love your channel im learning so much from you. I use sugar wax for my upper lip but the next day it gets irritated, what do you recommand me to use after?
anything marketed as calming or soothing is good so it reduces inflammation. the topicals hydrating mask im using here does just that. u can even use ice immediately after, or aloe, or witch hazel which are the 2 i normally use.
Can I apply the Acids on my armpits too? What mic do you use your voice sounds great? Do u exfoliate before waxing and then wait 2 days to exfoliate again(with a rag)? What if I also where sunscreen when do I apply? Sorry for all the questions new to this!!
yes. i just use my phone’s voice memo (no mic) I exfoliate 1 or 2 days before then wait 5-7 days after to exfoliate again. I mainly use chemical exfoliators at that time. You can still use suncreen as usual.
@@abetweene So sorry three more questions. What's the very first oil you applied? Do you get your aloe straight from the plant? I can't seem to find the Salicylic acid is there a different one I can buy? Please!
no worries! its a blend i made of jojoba and blue tansy. i either get it directly from the plant or buy aloe juice with no preservatives from market. u can use any product with salicylic acid as the active ingredient. feel free to pick from your favorite brand or store (the ordinary, topicals, whatever u like or works for your budget)
I would advise against it because photo sensitivity is a prominent side effect. That’s why you have to wear sunscreen diligently. the laser is quite literally light, and you definitely can’t wear sun protection during the procedure, so u could burn if not careful. feel free to talk to your aesthetician though because they may just have you go off certain products a couple of weeks before your treatment. since I don’t know your regimen, I can’t say for sure, but they can give u their recommendations based on specifics.
I have a question, when you do get ingrown hair do you just exfoliate? or do you break the skin to free the hair? which would be better, to use chemical or physical exfoliant? I have done sugaring once on my legs, and thanks to your tips it went great. but the hair that's growing is wayyy too fine to even 'break' my own skin and come out thanks! you're the best!
depends on the ingrown. if i can just see the hair under dry dead skin i may just exfoliate, or usually ill remove the hair with tweezers, especially if its a whitehead or blackhead type, then put on a hydrocolloid patch over the wound.
hi, can i use lactic acid (the ordinary one) directly on my legs and use some mild lotion afterwards? i can’t seem to easily get lactic acid lotion type here where i live that’s why
so we shouldn’t use both a topicals toner and bha/aha lotion together? is it better to alternate ? and doesn’t shea butter clog pores ? also on days of physical exfoliating can you still use chemical exfoliant after ?
are you asking if you should use a toner and lotion both containing AHA/BHA together? if so, no, you can pick either or. No, I would not recommend using a physical and chemical exfoliator in the same day; pick one or the other and give your skin rest periods in between. Shea butter can be comedogenic for some people so it’s up to you whether you’d like to use it. my face is acne-prone and my body is dry but I have no issues using it all over.
Hi, do you have any tips on how to get rid of the ingrown hairs at home if you already have them? I sugared but didn't see this video so I got ingrown hairs now.
ok, youd probably benefit most from physical exfoliation like a textured washcloth or even dry brushing a few times a week before showering to remove the skin cells trapping the hair. personally i think AHAs 1 or 2 times a week helps the physical exfoliation process too, or even better would be to take frequent baths with epsom salt.
@abetweene ah ok, about how long do you think it can take for it to become normal again and is it okay to sugar wax again soon? Not going to lie sugaring was very handy since the hairs take a while to grow back💫
can this schedule/ these products also be used for the bikini region? I feel like that’s where I struggle with the most ingrowns after waxing because I’m hesitant to use acids on more delicate skin areas
yes. just keep the stronger ahas restricted to the pubic bone only (skip the labia) u can use the ones that are good for sensitive skin on the bikini line/inner thigh (carefully)
I know you won’t have this problem because you don’t need to tan! But where would be the best place in this routine to also apply any gradual tanning moisturisers and/or glowy serums? I follow a very similar sugaring/exfoliation routine to yourself, but struggle knowing how to best fit in my tan. Thank you!
oh i absolutely do tan, lol! as u can see from the pale legs vs arms, my body is very uneven 😄 the gradual tans would be applied on your moisture only days, so just skip on the days you exfoliate. but ifs its a liquid or foam self tan that develops instantly/next day, apply if after doing a physical exfoliation. to preserve the tan you may want to use a gentle low percentage aha less frequently, like once a week.
@@abetweene oh wow you're awesome! Thank you 🥹❤️🙏🏼 so greatful for your tips! I have KP and HS and it's hell. I think sugaring is the way to go for me! Thanks for all of your help love
