I love this formula. People don't take this into consideration and automatically price their candles low thinking more sales is better but if you really think about it this isn't really the case if the supply costs are coming out of your pocket without being calculated into the price point. This can sometimes make it difficult for others to charge what their candles are worth for-profit purposes because somewhere someone has seen candles being offered for way cheaper and think you're just overcharging.

This was great, I been tryin to find out about "how long does it take for candle wax to set?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (do a google search ) ? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend got cool results with it.

Have a "line sheet" is an excellent way to present your pricing. A line sheet will list what items you offer, the retail price, and your wholesale price. Normally the wholesale price is 50% off your retail pricing. It can be as simple or designed as you can accomplish. :)

I've priced out everything (wax/wicks/vessel/fragrance/packaging) and my cost price is $16.90 which means retail I'd be looking at charging $68 per candle? That just seems way high and I haven't even factored in shipping or my time/utilities. Does this number sound way too high based on your knowledge? PS I'm looking at getting started and so this is me purchasing non-bulk orders

Whats if it costs you $12.50 per candle to make what am supposed to sell it for? Is $25 enough

Hi Ania! If you want to sell into retail stores, you should actually charge more like $45-50 for direct sales. If your costs are $12.50, I am guessing you either have a pretty luxurious and amazing candle, or it is large. Either way warrants a higher price point. Then you would sell it for 50% of that cost to a retail store ($22-25). Keep in mind who your market is and what others are charging for a similar product!

I use only top quality ingredients mainly from wooden wick... I use this formula for 12 oz candle and it's almost 70 bucks and I can't sell one to save my life lol

It can be! If you're selling wholesale white label candles then it would be the same. The only difference is if you're putting your branding on them or not :)
