Wow! Nice job. I subscribed. I came here looking for how to drag midi into my DAW from Breaktweaker, which you explained perfectly with the midi key triggers which is different, but there was so much more to learn. I got BreakTweaker from Plugin Boutique for $10 on sale and Playbeat 3 Lite for free, but I didn't invest in learning it at the time. I didn't realize there are different sources, including samples, and I didn't understand the generators offer 3 layers on any sound. This is amazing! Love your ideas for randomly generated midi notes to kick off patterns - brilliant! I use Logic, but the same ideas work. I thought only 6 lanes was a little limited but you can easily have multiple instances of Breaktweaker in your DAW. But really, I was thinking old-school where each lane is 1 drum. Thanks for showing the multi-output setup. I think I missed how to mix the volumes between the 3 generators of a sound patch?

Hi I'm trying to understand is if Break Tweater offers ready-made patterns? And if so, then I can drag them on a midi track to have all the midi signals of each sound (hit hat, snare, kick ...) which I can then modify to my liking? All the best

Even now, 3 years on I feel like I've barely scratched the wealth of possibilities that BreakTweaker provides. Such a shame it is discontinued in favor of StutterEdit 2. I use it now. Cause main drums great kicks and snares. But auto opens 8 tracks. And the unique percussions not so much. So it's just cuts and effects and Tom like sounds after my main kick snare on the drum machine. Its like a secondary little additives to my main.

Super clarifying tutorial! the microedit is an incredible feature. My ignorant question: is it possible to use my own custom or third party drum samples in BT?

great feature the record output is clunky and diverse at the same time, I just record all beats to one track and slice up later, for songs also I noticed a bug that if you just record in live 11 I could not get it to auto trigger, so I hit the little spanner to bring up the tool again then hit the preview button, then it would work, a bit clunky but it works more of less

How do you "let her go for a while"? Any time Ableton is playing, or recording, there is no way for me to start Breaktweaker. Only the one shot preview will record.

nice vid. wish i could afford it! i found Nicky Romeo's 'Half Time' to be a useful and cheap tool for new rhythmic ideas on hihat and drum loops, of course it's nowhere like this piece of kit. Perhaps Splice will post it as a rent to own.

You didn’t mention that the patches you have are from Breaktweaker Expanded. It confused my pea brain for a whole day. Brilliant Ideas’s though mate.

Very nice for 4/4 beats - what about odd time signatures. Theres one sentence in the manual explaining how to do odd time signatures. complying does not change the signature on Breaktweaker though. Why does everyone only write in 4/4? Oh no, not a 12/8 ballad! Ahhhh!

My least favorite plugin of all time. Gave up hope of ever getting it to play or record into my DAW. Something that basic shouldn't be made that difficult. Enjoyed your video tho.
