In this video on go about the steps it takes to program a BMW F chassis, it's similar to the E chassis but the equipment is a little bit different and so is the connection to vehicle
You can also see a video of using Topdon's equipment to do this function: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pgx9YRhoKK8.html . You can learn a little more about it.
Very informative. We have a 15 328i with the brakes applying when raining. Probably the ABS/DSC module, but there are other communication codes that go through the FCM/flexray bus, such as A/C, seats, wipers, gateway, etc.. so maybe it's wiring or the Fcm?? We have to do more diag, but nice to know we can program the modules with our Autel. Glad I found your channel!

Hi, thank you for detailed info. I have a question about headlights in a f series… if The headlights were changed from HID to LED, can they be programmed in to the car or are there additional modules and wiring replacement needed?
I believe retrofits is an option but would have to look at wire diagrams for both vehicles. Possibly the main FRM might need changed or retrofitted, and headlight modules will be bolted on actual headlights, the headlight connector might be the same but would have to check pinouts to them. I would research it more if I was you, but I believe the retrofit option is available.
Thank you very much for the good explanation. I'm looking to buy the IM608. It should have J2534 abilities (do you have any experience with key programming?). Could you tell me, how much the subscriptions for an update for a BMW would be or for the VW group? Is there a flat rate or do you pay per use? And how do you set up the connection Autel to the BMW server? Do you need an account (I already have an access to BMWs AOS). Or does the Autel tool establish the connection by itself? It's hard to find information on the internet how to set up a connection and show the process from A-Z, you're one the first vids I found that are very helpful. I'm sorry for so may questions, I hope you'll find so spare time to answer them. :-) Thank you very much.
Hey, I personally do not have any experience with the 608. but I believe initially it wasn't going to be able to program BMW and MB like the Elite and Pro, but I think that has changed as far as what I have been told (make sure to double check from a reliable source before purchasing). As far as cost and "subscriptions" go, you can only, with Autel, program BMW and MB with the higher end scanners, no other make at this time including VW and so forth. There is no additional cost, the ability to do programing with the Autel comes with the purchase price of the tool initially and is only good for the time that the tool is current on its warranty and subscription coverage. Once that time has lapsed for the tool, you can no longer update it and do programing, but can still have all full capabilities of diagnosing. Once you purchase an update for the tool, programing capability is granted once again for that amount of time of coverage you purchased (one yr or more). As far as establishing any type of connections to the servers, there are no set up procedures. The tool when going through the programing procedure will automatically reach out and get files. The only thing you would need to have set up is a wifi connection and a up to date current tool subscription as noted before. Once the files are downloaded into the tool it will prompt you to continue on with the procedure. Hope this helps and thank you for watching
Hello, I would like to know some information please for the j5 create usb ethernet adapters I searched on the internet to buy it I did not find the same one can I buy it anywhere what usb ethernet model thank you
Hi love the video, excellent information. Quick question. If I renew/virginize an used ECU/DME, can I program it to the car. As in plug to the car and upload all information onto the car from the programming/coding section.
Yes you definitely can, at that point it would be no different, almost, as getting a "fresh" one from the dealer. That is only if you truly are able to fully virginize the DME. As far as I know some are able to be and others not. What I do know is that it is much easier to just clone a used dme with the information from the original and no programing needed. But that takes separate equipment. Hope this helps
hello, I have Autel MK908P, you can use it to program the automatic transmission control unit when replacing it with a new one mercedes w211 7g tronic --
I know that it used to be able to, but I thought I heard that mb had put a stop to being able to program any of there module's with aftermarket systems, or at least had made it more difficult. I'm not sure if that's correct of not, but I know for sure initially that yes it could do it.

Hello, I was called for E66 cranking but not starting, the ECU was replaced and I know i have to program the DME, I have an IM608 would a simple reset do, or would I have to go through the whole programming procedure that you just explained, new to flashing and programming ECM, and BCM. First BMW I'll be doing. Thx 🙏
Hey Edwin, A reset deal won't get the DME programmed. You will have to go through this procedure as long as the dme is new or virginized, because a used one cannot be programmed into the car this way. Also, I am not sure if the 608 is capable, I haven't had experience with it but I believe I was told it can do it. Hope this helps and thank you for watching.
The DME was bought from a company like your self where it was programmed with the veichle specific software. I was looking for your E chassis specific video and can't find it
Hey just wondering, my Autel doesn't have the programming option displayed. Just the Service and Diagnosis ones. Is that because it needs that Jbox plugged in first? Does it automatically detect that box and then subsequently pop up that option? Do I have a scanner that is in incapable? It looks just like yours
hello, this machine autel 908s pro can do everything the bmw machine esys or ista does? like change the lights from halogen to led or oled change quadrant change radio activate paddles on the steering wheel? thank you for your understanding
having trouble programming a fuel pump module when i plug in the new one i am not able to see it or communicate with it and when i plug in the original one i can communicate and see it under the control unit list. in programming/coding any advise ? 2012 328i f30
did you select yes or no to the question it asks if any modules have been replaced.... if you clicked yes you might want to select no and then look for it in the list of selective programing and go from there
Excellent videos as always, I noticed in your E chassis programming video you had the Snap-on charger/power supply, but in this video I did not see the power supply you were using. Do you think the Snap-on charger / maintainer you used on the E chassis is sufficient for both E and F chassis vehicles? Also im608 is able to program bmw.
Hey Shane, yes that charger is the same one I use for all the programming I do, it has worked well for me with no issues. So it will do the F chassis the same as it did for the E chassis. And the im608 is not able to do the bmw programing like the pro/elite/ and I think ultra also. Hope this helps answer your questions and thank you for watching
@@DTEAuto I have the I'm608 and it lets me in to the same screen you showed and has all the current and new calibrations listed and tells me to use the cable in your video, also called autel and they say it will and then sold me the cable. Thanks for the answer on the battery charger, looking forward to programming bmws in the future.
@@shanejohnson8024 oh wow, that's awesome to hear from a first hand experience that yes it will do the programming. I was just under the impression that it wouldn't from hear say. Also if you have to use the Ethernet to USB, make sure to get an adapter that will work , I had to purchase a couple before finding the one I used in video, because others data rate speed wasn't good enough, I ended up just going to best buy and grabbing mine. Hope it works out well for you
A little confused on the diagram in here... if you have an ethernet cable going to the OBD Y splitter, and back into the tablet via USB. How is the tablet getting an internet connection to download the files? It seems to me that wifi would have to be connected to at least download the files but the tablet specifically shuts the wifi radio off when doing this process.
The ethernet connection is not for internet connection, its for a separate simultaneous vehicle programming data transfer at a different faster speed while the obd programs at a slower speed. All the data file downloads are done via wifi to the network
Hi, im trying to program a F32 bmw to fold and unfold sideview mirrors with the beeper looking and unlocking the car, its posible to program with the autel? I dont find the option in cheat coded
Hello friend, hey, I have a question, I'm about to buy an Autel scanner but more than anything it is to solve the problem with my BMW, which is the CAS module. I needed to reprogram and restart the CAS module so that it allows me to start the vehicle but I don't know what to scan. can i buy for this problem
@@jaymilli9483 Steel it.... or.... I have now decided we go with a GysFlash 100.12 HF. Else modify an old PSU, or buy one with 13.8 v. They start to come up more and more. THere are several modify links on good old PSUs. PSUs are actually underestimated. But still I have decided to get a pro-built one.
CABLE you need for the F series coding - and its fast.. and your autel kit may or maynot come with the required odb-ethernet combination cable - maybe you discovered by now
