It would be nice if the device supported a dark mode like you do for the screensaver. the white background can be intense at night, whereas a dark background looks elegant like the Nest, Ecobee displays.

Installed last week; this morning GFCI error/fault and system shut-down. Contractor returning to trouble shoot but may take a couple of days. Ambient outdoor temp is 60F, however in the meantime temperature gauge shows increase from this morning of 80F to 92F this evening, while the floor tile is stone cold with zero energy use recorded. Let me know if system is a risk and whether I should turn off/flip circuit breaker.

Is the temperature on thermostat the indication of temperature oft he surface floor? We noticed it definitely is not the air temperature. It is currently set up at 85F (the builder set it up). The weather has been warm here and it hasn't gone down below 85F that yet. But some mornings have been chilly, the thermostat is still above 85F. Trying to find a temperature benchmark.
@schlutersystems1
@schlutersystems1 Год назад
Hi Jung, the temperature indication is for the floor, not the air temperature. If the system/sensor is installed properly, the floor temp reading on the thermostat should be either the same or pretty close to floor surface temp. If there is an incorrectly connected sensor, you may not feel heat on the floor and the thermostat readings could be off. In that case, we would suggest contacting customer service for assistance. If you do feel heat on the floor, you would simply adjust the temperature settings until you find one you are comfortable with. Hope this helps! Hi, does the thermostat have a summer mode or do I need to change all the temperature settings?
@schlutersystems1
@schlutersystems1 Год назад
Hi Jeff! The wi-fi thermostat does have a vacation mode. The DITRA-HEAT-E-RT do not have that option. You can turn the power off at the thermostat or at the breaker. Other option would be to manually turn down the temperature to something where it wouldn't heat (50 degrees for example) and then select for the change to be "permanent". Once you do that, a button will show up on the display that says to resume schedule. Hope that helps!

How do you know what ohm setting to use? Default is 10k ohm, and when testing for continuity the ohm test is 140 ohms? Am I missing something here. Hi there! This might be easier for us to discuss with you on the phone. It sounds like the correct reading, and you can double check it with the ohms number on the silver tag. If it does not match up, refer back to the meter manual to find out the range for each ohms setting and try again. Again, think this might be easier for us to discuss on the phone, where we can get some more info from you. @schlutersystems1
@schlutersystems1 2 года назад
Hi John! Thank goodness for warmer days. 🙂 here are three ways to turn the unit off. 1. Hold the button on the bottom right hand side for 2-3 seconds. This will turn the unit off, but the breaker would still be on so there will still be power going to the unit. Hold the same button down for 2-3 more seconds to turn the unit back on. 2. Turn the breaker off. You will have to turn the breaker back on again prior to using the unit again. 3. Adjust the manual target temperature to 50 or lower and then select "Permanently" for the time frame. This will keep the unit on, but it will not heat because the target temperature is so low. In this case, you can quickly, manually adjust the temperature target at any time to get the thermostat to start heating again. Hope this helps!

I like how the thermostat slips in the "floor load?" in Kw yet the manual is in watts. So my floor load is 475 watts. Should I enter .4Kw or .5Kw? Neither one is right based on the options I can choose from. I think someone on the design team needs a slap in the head and have his parking spot taken away. I'll never understand why manufactures can't match the information in the book to the device. Is there any way to stop the floor heating besides either turning off the breaker or turning the temperature presets all the way down?
@schlutersystems1
@schlutersystems1 Год назад
Hi Arpad, the floor load is used to calculate the approximate energy consumed by the floor heating system. If the floor load is entered in kW on the floor load screen, the user can then view their system's estimated energy usage data under "Menu" > "Energy Use". If the screen is bypassed or an incorrect floor load is entered, it will have no effect on the floor's heating performance or operation of the system. For your system, if you plan to track the energy usage data, we recommend rounding up to 0.5 kW on the floor load screen. The Schluter DITRA-HEAT-E-RT and DITRA-HEAT-E-WiFi thermostats can be programmed by the user to fit their scheduling needs. Also, another way to stop the floor from heating is to hold the button on the bottom right hand side for 2-3 seconds. That will power the unit off, but the breaker will still be on. You can hold the same button down for 2-3 more seconds to power the unit back on. For additional assistance, please contact our Customer Service team or view the DITRA-HEAT Thermostats User Manual by visiting the product page on our website.

@schlutersystems1 2 года назад
Hey, David! There are several ways to "turn off" the thermostat other than the normal heating and cooling cycle (turn on and turn off times) you program in as a set schedule for morning, day, evening, and night temperatures. 1. Hold the button on the bottom right hand side for 2-3 seconds to power off the unit. You can hold the same button down for 2-3 more seconds to power the unit back on. 2. Adjust the manual target temperature to 50 (or a lower temperature that would never give the thermostat a reason to kick on) and then select "Permanently" for the time frame. When you want to resume operating as normal, you would just click "Return to Schedule". 3. Turn off the breaker. Please contact Customer Support if you need help with programming your system.

How do you determine the load
@schlutersystems1
@schlutersystems1 4 года назад
Hi Josiah, The floor load in kW is equal to the total wattage of the cable or cables connected to the thermostat divided by 1000. The total wattage can be found on the silver identification tag that's attached to the heating cable or in the Price List. If needed, there is a little more detail on page 16 of the DITRA-HEAT-E-RT User Manual which can be found here: sccpublic.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/sys-master/images/he5/h70/8854609887262/DITRA-HEAT-E-RT%20User%20Manual.pdf Hope this helps!
