I watched this again and understood most of it, I think I can get the hang of it if I watch this video, slow it down and practice each step some. Now just gotta do it. Last time I reached out to you I had been sick from toxic mold poisoning so I wasn't thinking very well at the time. Much more clear today! Thanks guys.
Should I take the TR-08? I am interested in music production. Let the work flow be fast and I want to be a good producer and do quality sounds and work. Thanks...
Nice machine . I am looking for a machine that can handle 4 patterns. Pattern 1 verse, plays 8 times. Then pat 2 refrain, plays 4 times . Then the machine can change back to pattern1, and play that 8 times . I wonder if this machine can do that ?
Would it have been so hard for Roland to make an actual manual rather than let people have to struggle and/or dig through video after video to find out how to use the damn thing?
i agree. but my roland tr-8s came with an actual hardcopy manual.. which is awesome. otherwise, yeah most hardware these days is annoying for not having it!
@@missfarina3142 exactly what I was thinking. Was really surprised when the TR8S came with an actual full sized manual. Ridiculous that I now want the TR08.
1. Is it possible to use it as a 12-channel sequencer, by sending each instrument's MIDI notes individually? 2. Is it possible to control playback by switching patterns with incoming MIDI notes, instead of by physically pressing buttons?
1. I know it’s possible to hook the tr-08 yo a keyboard and have the individual sounds layout on the keys. So the 12 channel sequencer might work! 2. Midi cc? Again I’m sure there’s a way depending on the daw or sequencer your using
-. J \ 1. Actually I want the opposite :) I want to program a sequence and use its instruments to trigger different events on external gear (so clap will trigger one patch, cowbell another patch, etc). So I will be using rhytmic patterns to control 12 different entities in my project
I’m still not quite sure as how to create with this machine, I have never used the original tr 808, the 1st machine I became familiar with was the Roland r8, I’m going to need more instruction as to what to do in order to get started, please help me
Its been my dream my whole life to create dope beats, like I finally got the machine to do it and can't figure it out and no there is no one to help me. Do you know how frustrating that is to me? It almost hurts.
@@jareddee3942 hey! There’s lot of tutorials out there. It’s not a difficult machine at all. You can search for pattern ideas on google and copy that patterns to get started. Good luck.
This think couldn't be more difficult to use. More importantly, through what connection do I connect this to my computer to record with Logic Pro? I use an Apollo Twin interface, yet for the life of me cannot get the connections to recognize. Anyone? Helppppp?
They all assume that you already know how to program the TR0-08 from scratch. They push many buttons and then say: "See: it;s easy...". With no words of explanation why they are doing what they are doing.
This Andy guy is ok, but he has a remit just to show and not get bogged down with specific questions. Guys just watch all the videos, should cover all bases, it will all click into place, eventually. Then you can make your own video to break things down further for the next generation 😉
You use the word "polyrhythm" but then go on to describe polymetric time signatures, which is entirely different. This device is not capable of actual polyrhytmic patterns.
Ive got this thing. Its sound crap as fuck and has nothing from an 808 og. First I thought its because these videos have a small resolution but no, this drummashin has no oompf and sounds boring. The patch sucks too. waste of money imo
You can always process it. I have mine going to a mic pre and parallel to another channel with compression. Blend the two run reverb and its sweet.`But I think it sounds great on its own.
