Absolutely. Take the following steps. 1. Turn radio OFF 2. PRESS & HOLD the PTT, SB1, & SB2 (all 3 buttons on left side of radio) 3. Turn radio on, keep holding down all 3 buttons until you hear a chirping pattern. 4. Release buttons after chirp, radio is reset.
I have a RDU4160D set to the 16 default frequencies. I know how to put it in program mode, can i put in any uhf frequecie i want or is there a preprogramed list of business channels. Note I will be using the keypad and not a computer with programing software.
Great question. If you're programming from the radio (not in software), you will only be able to select from the preset frequency chart that is pre-assigned by Motorola. This will be a subset of either 89 or 99 frequency options, depending on the age of your radio. Custom frequencies and repeater channels require the business radio CPS and a password to enable custom settings.

hello, please help me with some information. I bought a Motorola GP 688 two way walkie talkie, when I turn it on, NO PERSONALITY appears on the display. I tried to enter the menu, no button responds. what can i do? thank you

Thanks for the comment. Can you confirm that both the frequency AND code are programmed to match? If your frequencies match but there is no privacy code setting on the programmed radio, then the programmed radio will only work one way (transmit but not receive). If that doesn't correct the issue, it's possible that the other radios are programmed to work with a repeater. If there is a repeater being used, you can either clone with a Multi-Unit charger or program using the Computer Programming Software.
