In this video, I will show you how to propagate Hoya Linearis. It will be soil propagation. I will also explain why I prefer soil propagation over water, sphagnum, or LECA for this houseplant. I hope you will find this video very helpful. If you like my video, please make sure to give me a 👍 and subscribe! Thank you so much for watching and happy planting!🪴

I just received this one in the mail today!! 😁 It’s so pretty!! I didn’t realize that you could use the stem to help keep it in the dirt - so smart!! Will you transfer the ones in the little cups to larger pots with soil too? Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴

I don’t know what I’m going to do with little ones yet. But once they are rooted I will move them into a Hoya mix. 😊

@ElenasGreenPlanet
@ElenasGreenPlanet 2 года назад
@@mwoods4608 Yes, it is different. I propagate my Hoyas in Coco coir and vermiculite mix. I have a video on how I prepare it, if you’re interested to see here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KAxXj8tTS-s.html. And once they are rooted I re-pot them in a different mix: soil, orchid bark, perlite and charcoal. I don’t really measure anything I just throw it together so it’s well draining. I hope it helps😊.

If you don’t feel comfortable, you can always just cut one or two nodes, try that way first see how it roots for you before you cut more. Once you succeed, you will not have trouble cutting your plants up anymore. 😊 All of the cuttings that I’ve made in that video are doing great! So far not one loss. 💚

Hello, at what time of the year is it recommended to propagate? How long does it take for your new Hoya linearis plants to germinate?thank you ❤
@ElenasGreenPlanet
@ElenasGreenPlanet 6 месяцев назад
Hello, I propagate all year around. As long as you have a propagation box and preferably heat mat you can propagate anytime. It takes about two weeks for this Hoya to root.

I just let them sit for a couple hours after cutting and then I would put them in my propagation cups. If I don’t want to wait I just put them in a dry mix and just water them in a little while.

@ElenasGreenPlanet 2 года назад
Hi. Little cup propagations I usually water once a week. But gauge by your environment. That’s why I like using Coco coir and vermiculite mix for my propagations. I can actually see when they need to be watered, medium gets lighter in color when it’s dry. I hope it helps 😊.

This just shows that Hoyas dont need a node to root!
@ElenasGreenPlanet
@ElenasGreenPlanet 2 года назад
Hoyas root on their stem. Node is where new leaves and vine will grow from, that’s why you need to have it. 😊
@Adaveraz
@Adaveraz 5 месяцев назад
those cuttings have nodes, she showed the nodes as well, it's where the leaves grow from the stem. You could plant only a hoya leaf but it stays as a leaf for ever
