How To Properly Align Your Lifted Subaru 

This is a great video for training techs to do alignments in general. Procedure is absolutely spot-on. 4 wheel alignment done right.

It's not just Subaru's, it's any vehicle with rubber bushing suspension mounting points. It's the alignment and the durability as well. Once torqued the rubber is now the only part of the bushing that allows movement by way of the rubber flexing. If the inner sleeve is locked in position by the tightening of the mounting bolts while the suspension is hanging in full rebound when weight is put on now the rubber is twisted as if the suspension was compressed while at ride height, that won't have them lasting very long at all. It is a mistake made often in the Jeep world as well.

It looks like you are manipulating the OEM specifications to achieve "good" alignment specifications. Why does your kit require this manipulation step?

Looks good, however he should have quoted the factory torque specs for the suspension bolts, and actually used a torque wrench, not just tight plus a 1/4 turn. Most are about 90lbs, and some are mid-60s. I'm sure it's fine, but it should be done to factory spec.

For whatever reason the drivers rear toe is out of adjustment and not in far enough on mine. The passenger rear is in, but it took the full adjustment to get it there. My trek is a 19 with this lift

What about the lane assist recalibration? Is that the proper way to do the alignment? I use my lane assist alot after my alignment was done I'm sure they didn't do the recalibration and it don't drive as good as it did anymore when the lane assist is on

Who do you recommend for alignments? NTB? Discount Tire? Subaru Dealership? I'm in Nashville TN. 2017 Outback.

How lose do you actually leave the suspension points? I am planning installing my lift kit and i cant assume the alignment shop has the knowledge you do to perform the suspension loosening technique to achieve the best results. So i wanted to do the loosening myself at home once the loft is in place before driving to the shop.

So after all that bouncing and breaking loose the jam nuts you're not going to recheck the steering wheel is straight before adjusting toe? Good luck with that.
