My Bermuda grass was slow greening up out of dormancy. So last week I spread this Sta Green Max on my Bermuda right before the rains and it looks so good now.
I really like how Sta Green feeds the lawn and the soil at the same time with humic acid. 30% Nitrogen with iron should make the lawn pop a dark green. Also, sea kelp to help with root production is a nice touch. I think Scotts Green Max has some healthy competition with this product. But the proof is in the pudding; I can't wait to see your results. Have a great day.
Ok cmon new toy 😂 and lets go StaGreen looking forward to see the full run this season glad the weather is starting to break for u that means more content 👀 u alrwady know I’m tuned in 🤛🏾
Yes, the tree is gone 🙌🏾🙌🏾 lol. It's bitter sweet it provided great shade, but it caused a lot of damage to my fence for yearrrrssssss 🤣. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it
I sometimes use Epson salt when fertilizing but it doesn't accelerate lawn fertilizer growth. However, it does help with seed germination, nutrient absorbing, and the general health of lawns and plants.
It's very hard to train my brain that there are more options outside of Milorganite 😁 and even harder for me to trust a box store brand... But you definitely got me looking to try this.
Milorganite is good I use to use it alot along with Scott's lawn food. But once I seen this brand and everything it had to offer I got real curious about it and wanted to give it a shot
Milorganite is trash now. It’s been overhyped before C19 kicked in back in 2020. The price they’re selling those small bags were the same price they were selling the 45lb bags back 10yrs ago. Plus the analysis was stronger. The new analysis on the smaller bag is weaker.
You’re one of the only lawn guys I see pushing this stuff (probably because they are making $$ off the more expensive stuff they sell). I have to say I’m intrigued by the ingredients of this fertilizer and might just have to make the jump. I’ve been using Menards Premium Lawn food and spraying my biostims and it’s working well but I always like new products to fill up my garage 😂 Oh and subscribed!
Thank you, I just like to try new products. And this one definitely caught my eye because of all the ingredients they have listed. Fill up your garage 🤣🤣. I got a bunch of stuff stored away also
@@localppc242Ya after I looked into last night it’s definitely up there with Yard Mastery products etc BUT if you consider you don’t have to purchase additional humic or sea kelp biostims then the price is probably more competitive. Just not sure the quantity of those components!
Good info! Little more $$ than Scotts Green Max in my area, but seems like you get a little extra coverage and kelp/iron with the Sta Green. I'm sure you will get good results. I'm putting down some grub prevention myself today.
Sta Green has really brought it recently. Not a fan of their liquids, but their granulars have been working very well. I was hesitant with this one but will try it now. (backyard) The "Natural" 16-0-8 is my go to at the moment. Thanks for the review.
I saw this fert at Lowe’s and got super excited to see the kelp and humic included. Sadly, it’s super clumpy and doesn’t spread at all. Went back and bought another bag off a new pallet and had the same results. Might be due to the humidity and Lowe’s storing them outside. Hopefully they get it fixed and quality control improves.
Will throw this stuff down next application. I started with Milo along with simple lawn solutions liquid iron and fert. Lawn is looking great right now but in southern california where I live gets 110 in the summer. July 4th is usually my next application.
Hi, where have you been in my life? My front lawn is nothing but a weed I am so embarrassed! I wanted to pour or spray some round up on it, but then someone said if I kill it with that it would kill the soil and when I put new seed down it would not grow. So I’m going to buy one of those weed killer not grass killer you recommend. I’m not trying to have the best lawn I just want to not be embarrassed. I rent and I have just had hip surgery. So I need something easy and cheap! New subscriber
I'm hoping they offer something with a bit less N, not a fan of high nitrogen ferts. As we know nitrogen pushes top growth and that equates to at least minimum 2 mowings per week per my experience with higher content nitrogen ferts. I do run a hybrid program throughout the season which allows me more flexibility in the amount on the ground.
So I just did the spectracide weed killer granules and sprayer last week (which worked really well!) would I be able to do fertilizer now or how long would I wait?
We got to know how did it work and please do an update video. Also Sta- green natural 16-0-10 vs Max? Which one did you like better? Good looking grass my guy! Keep it up!!!
I put down some max green by Scott’s about 7 weeks back. How often should I fertilize my lawn? Thank you for the great info. I learn something different all the time from your channel. I also use the weed killer for the lawn with the hose for the first time. It really is working.
What up bruh. Are you moving your sprinklers or does it cover the your whole lawn. If so, what's the name of the sprinkler. I swear you sometimes know what working on over here. I've been tryna find a good sprinkler for my backyard.
No, I don't move it just place it right in the center of the yard and it does I good job of watering the yard. It's the Aqua Joe it covers 3600 sq feet. I got it at Walmart but I believe Amazon carry it also.
Great video great explanation. Just curious if you seen any clumpy residue in your bag, as I stated a few weeks ago I had gummy clumps that were rock hard that ranged from 1/4”-1” and they couldn’t be broken up many reviews stated the same issues it was just a real pain sifting the fertilizer every time filling the hooper. The product does work I seen a difference in a few days. Your lawn is looking great. 👍
No I haven't seen any clumps in my bag. I was definitely looking because I remember you mentioned that you seen some but nope everything came out smooth. Thank you for support and watching. I really appreciate it
I had clumps all in my bag too, wasn't spreadable at all, maybe it was a bad bag. Was really disappointed because I really like what they put in the bag!
Adding coffee grounds throughout the growing season has these benefits and you can get it free from most of your coffee shops like Starbucks. Organic material Coffee grounds provide nitrogen and phosphorous, which can be good for lawns that are sandy, clay, or nutrient-poor Aeration Coffee grounds create small air pockets in the soil, which helps young roots access water, nutrients, and oxygen Drainage Coffee grounds can help improve drainage, which can lead to a healthier lawn Soil pH Coffee grounds are slightly acidic and can lower the pH of soil, which can be beneficial for clay soils Compost Coffee grounds are rich in nitrogen, which can help bacteria turn organic matter into compost Mulch Coffee grounds can help retain moisture and prevent weeds when spread around the base of plants Worms Earthworms eat coffee grounds and return minerals to the soil, which can stimulate lawn growth Pests Coffee grounds can deter pests like snails and slugs, and can also bind to organic and chemical pesticides to help keep pests away for longer Fungal disease Coffee grounds are anti-microbial and can help prevent fungal diseases like Fusarium, Pythium, and Sclerotinia
@@LawnAmateur always looking to help someone who also helps others. Keep doing what you do... Besides you suggesting to use a cultivator(u called it something else) was a game changer for me
Protip: identifying your grass type should be your first step. Aka, the spectracide that I used on my Zoysia lawn was great at killing off all the weeds, but when I tried it on my brother's lawn it killed off some of the Centipede (I thought it was Bermuda 😢). St. Augustine grass mostly falls in the same category as Centipede regarding herbicides, so take caution.
Hey Dee... Question...Do you think those little cups to measure the amount of water the lawn is getting works? Yes I did a heavy reseed to pump the lawn and have the hunny doing his lawn too... Also I have straw on top. Thanks
Can I do a blanket spray using the organge Spectracide Weed Stop w/Crabgrass AND apply Sta Green 2 n 1 fertilizer on the same day? If so, which one do I apply first?
You can blanket spray the lawn first then wait 2 days after spraying, mow the lawn bag all clippings and discard them. Then you can apply the fertilizer
Mr.D...i need some help..Like major..I respond under your videos about my lawn when i have questions..I understand u cant answer everone but im trying to follow ur suggestions
Is it good for zoysia? What do I use for clovers and crabgrass before putting this down? I've tried scott's turf stuff and it didn't work (well or at all)
Yes, this will work for Zoysia grass. If you have a problem with clover and crabgrass try spectracide weed stop for lawns. Check Out this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hpcTv0g6ucI.html
Thank you. I just saw that video as well. I’m hoping l can apply the granules and spray at the same time … or is that too much weed stop in 1 treatment?
That was my question also: How did you not run out of fertilizer in the spreader if you pass in different directions? Also, I see you make really wide turns with the spreader, which is something I don't do. I guess that's why your grass looks better than mine, LOL. Mine looks good though and I'm learning a lot from your videos. Lastly, what height are you cutting at right now? I'm between 3-3 1/2 for TTF. I'll be cutting at 4" when the weather gets hotter.
@darrenhollins10 no that's how the fertilizer products are designed to be used. Wider turns are good because the spreader will throw the granular helping you slightly overlap where you already applied fertilizer. I'm currently cutting at 2 1/2 I'll go up once temperatures rise also
I'm sorry but the price for it doesn't justify the amount of sq ft coverage needed for me. 70 bucks at my local Lowes that covers 14400 sqft. I have 24000 sq ft of bermuda to fertilize. I'll just stick with Andersons fertilizer when it comes out to about the same price for me. I know I'm going to catch hell for this comment but it really comes down to price and coverage rate per each yards size usage.
There is nothing wrong with that. You have to do what's best for you. I'm just showing what's available in the big box stores just in case people want something right away. By the way, what Andersons fertilizer do you use?
@LawnAmateur 16-4-8. PGF Complete with humic. Buy it in bulk to get me through the whole year. It's easier for me to have it on hand when I need to use it.
