A chicken of the woods crown no less. Shrooms battered, deep fried, crispy and succulent - one of my faves. Batter is crispy to the max thanks to beer, cornflour and rice flour plus hot oil.
Thanks for the video Will. That's quite the pad your mom has there. Landscaping alone is incredible. Based on the furniture, I'm guessing very close to the ocean too. I've always wanted to try harvesting mushrooms here in southern NH, but it's scary. I'm tempted to try the ones that make you see magical things too. LOL
Fellow mushroom forager here. I appreciate all your content. This one really hits home for me. I found 3 new chicken of the woods trees this week. Thanks for the content.
@@CookingWithClams to each their own. I know when you’re doing one of these, that the meal is going to be something special & definitely a new recipe for me. I just got back from my BC fishing trip. Waiting on fish delivery in the coming weeks. I requested 1 of my halibuts to come with the head & body intact so that I could try smoking the ribs
Love the foraging stuff you do, both mushrooms and along the coast but your cooking skills and knowledge you drop around cooking are why I show up here week after week. Be well Clams, my very best to you
Thanks for the water tip! I harvested one last year and it was beautiful. I dry seared it and it had a good flavor but terrible mouth feel. Going to be fall foraging this Sunday
@@CookingWithClams I’m not experienced enough to call my shots, 😂. Pretty much just walk around the mushroom woods and hope for the best. Found some entaloma once. They were amazing 🤩
Looked delicious ! Mushrooms scare me due to my ignorance of what is safe. I really need to learn what is edible around my area. I’m so glad you used thighs instead of tasteless breasts. The thighs have so much more flavor.
When I saw the title I was likeb finally he will cook some chicken for us.😅 just joking. Great advice on boiling those mushrooms first before saute. Thank you.
I’ve been dying to learn how to mushroom forage! My grandmother used to find mushrooms in grass that was brown on top and yellowish & porous like a sponge on the undercarriage… we would sauté in butter and were the most fantastic tasting mushroom! Do u know what these are called?
