Thank You for this video totally relaxing on the brain. I wish a lot of RU-vidrs videos were like this not hit that like button and subscribe button before you even get a chance to watch. Your video just opened my eyes to sizing skates I have been out of skating and hockey for 35 years and don’t know squat jack squat about sizing or quality of skates anymore . And to say the least I have subscribed and like your video.
mackay19850203 so long as your foot isn’t sliding around a lot, you should be fine. If there is a lot of vertical room you might lose some power in your stride but they make things to put into the toe box to fix that
My right foot is a little crooked, and a bone on the inside part of my ankle sticks out. This makes it hard to get a good skate fit, because it causes me to lean more on my inside edge while standing up, instead of having it the balance equally on both edges. My left foot is fine. Do you have any suggestions for it? It's very appreciated!
here is the main problem i am having with fitting. I have a pair of Vapor Shift Skates, they are 4 years old and have recently bought new skates. I am in a size 10.5 shoe, and my skates are 9.5 EE. They fit fine, my big toes are almost to toe cap by judging by taking out the insole first. I tried on Vapor skates and because they are D or EE the D were way to narrow in the foot. I bought Vapor x100 skates 9.5EE and it seems that they are bigger than the Shifts I bought years ago. Looking at the vapors you put on I find by looking at your skates they look VERY similar in the fit and area around the top of tongue and achilles. My shifts seemed to hug my leg around my Achilles but still had space. When I look at your skates they fit me very close to the same and it appears you have a lot more room around that area, not much of a hug. I am an advanced skater, and play 5 days a week. I am not sure what to do about these skates.
I'm a size 13 shoe with a wide foot I don't ice skate anymore but I wanted to get back into roller hockey a little bit every skate I see says size 12 but US 13.5... How true to size are skates? I haven't ice or bladed in forever. But wanted to get back into it.
Thank you i made a purchase was using my street skate size. I just got on the ice my first time didnt know what i was doing but people from utc ice were very helpful and know from this video shows i need to get a better fitting pair of skates because this is super fun.
After every game the arch of my feet start hurting ALOT. The pain is almost unbearable for about 2 minutes. Im assuming the skates heavily compress my feet and when I get my feet out, they decompress and cause pain. Is that normal?
I think preference and feel play a big factor in it though. Though ideally, It should be about very very close to the toe like 1 cm, but when you lean it SHOULD be touching it.
I have been using my CCM Vector 04 (7.5E) for many years till it has broken recently and I am planning to get a RibCor 44k! But I realised they no long have E, but only size D and EE. Will the difference between E and EE very big? CCM size 7.5E for me is slight tight at the side of my feet.
im sorta in a dilemma. Because the skate i have now is size 8, but its litterally 0,1cm too short in the toe area and too small on other areas aswell, but the 8.5 would be 0,3 cm too long, however i should go for the 8,5 then right??
@@smilingaxolotl9576 i can barely remember as its so long ago, but Im pretty sure i went with the 8.5. It didnt take long to get used to it and it was absolutely the right choice for me
@@emilphillipsen7540 I recently bought some 2S Pro's and I can *touch* (I think feather is a bit too light of a word) the toe cap when I'm standing, but when I get a kneebend going I can't touch it anymore. Do you think it's a good fit for me? Also, thank you for such a quick response.
@@smilingaxolotl9576 it sounds like its a good fit. Personally i dont like touching the toe Cap when standing normally but for me My skates are nearly brushing the toes against the Cap when standing normally and they fit me fine
@@emilphillipsen7540 thank you bro, you've been a massive help! Have a nice day! ❤️ (Edit; I'd like to emphasise the fact that my big toes are very much so in contact with the caps when I'm standing, but getting a bit of a knee bend makes them lose contact.)
Yo, i dropped down 2 sizes and my toes still don't touch the end. I take out the insole and my foot fits perfectly like in this video, just a tiny bit of space at the very end. I'm guessing it must be close to touching, am i cool? Should i have gone down 2.5 sizes?
If it feels even a little too snug SIZE UP even slight pinching will result in blisters and discomfort after 30 mins of skating I made that mistake and suffer those side effects
Guys I just tried on the Bauer 2x pro and my toes where just nipping the top of the skate , but I found with the new toe cap I could feel my toes when I bend and keep them straight out hit the upper part of the toe cap!!! Is this what that new toe cap is suppose to do? Keep your foot from moving ???
I have a blister on the right side of my right big toe . played 2 nights in a row . nothing on my left big toe also have lower shin pain on my left shin but tie my skates up the same for both skates . any help would be very much appreciated
i get blissters after skating hire skates, so I'm thinkinh of buying some skates myself, since i always have the blisster on the inside edge of my foot and around the heel section after 2 hours i still dont know why. i hope that my new skates wont be like that
hi guys when I'm looking at my foot I don't really have a nearow foot and I want to use the Bauer nexus and the Supreme line what skate is the best for me
When I tie my skates up, they are open around the middle/forefoot area compared to the bottom and the top. Does it mean my feet are too wide for the skate? They are already EE.
It causes more wear and tear that way pull out wards to the sides because it causes less wear and tear and also the skate molds towards your foot better
I’m honestly concerned. I’m a rollerblader and most good bladers will use hockey skates. But I have a high instep and wide foot. The skate will literally cut off my circulation, because I have the vapour ones which are made for narrow feet. They aren’t cheap, and I’ve already had a skate so I don’t know what to do. They will cut off my circulation if I tie them how I would quad skates :( What do I do? Because Bauer aren’t selling the supreme or nexus ones anymore (and they don’t go to the spec I want) which those two are for more standard/ wider. ANY HELP will be useful
Both Tour and Alkali roller hockey skates have just the specs you need. They have high volume, a wide forefoot, and high instep. We have plenty of models on our website and even have Alkali on a massive clearance to make room for the new 2020 models coming in!! Brandon IW Hockey
I got inhaler ac7s for chirstmas and lebeda shooters for my birth day and they were too big. Thanks ice warehouse this video showed me how to get them propper. I put them on and followed the steps and they feel perfect now and I can really get those tight turns when I am playing! Once agian thanks chase and every one at ice warehouse you guys rock! P.S. those skates and wheels I mentioned earlier were from your online site.
Iknow am late to ask but i hope someone answer *if i didnt feel my ? toes sticking to the skate is that okay? I mean if it didnt stick to my full toenails
Porter GreatrexHey guys, sorry for commenting on 3 of ur videos just i really need a reply haha, i just picked up new bauer supreme 180s, but i have a problem. My shoe size is 11 and my previous skates (bauer apx) were size 9 . The guy helping me kept saying i was size 8.5 in skates so i bought that size. But whenever i stand up straight my toes touch the eend of the skate. Also my olds skates fit perfectly in my opinion and toes dont really touch, so i dont know what do to. Also i find it strange to drop 2&1/2 sizes in skates. And thoughts IW? I would appreciate it!
Hey guys im looking at getting some vapor x300s and I can only get them in a 7 or 8 and I usually fit a 9 shoe, going by the 1 and a half size down sort of rule , do you think id be able to pack out a 7 and be comfortable? or deal with the 8 being a little too big
I wasn't sure if the skates I bought were too small or not. I didn't want to use them before I was sure if they were too small. My toe just barely touches the end of the toe box. So you have confirmed my fit is correct. I was afraid if I went up a size they would be too big.
Skates should be 1.5 sizes down from your shoe size. Your toes should barely feather the end of the toe cap, which sounds like what you have! Ideally, skates should fit like a second skin, allowing you to have maximum performance without any pain. Baking them will definitely help them fit like a glove! Brandon at IW Hockey
Thought I’d update this, after a season of play the nexus line was definitely a bad choice for my foot lol, after a couple skates my feet started to feel pain and remain painful after only an hour on ice, my heel also lifted quite a bit. I’ve tried on a couple other pairs and so far a vapor EE has felt the nicest, followed by a Tacks D, currently waiting on my local store to get some Tacks in an EE in stock so I can try them. Funny considering I went to a store that prides themselves in proper skate fit and they didn’t bother having me try other lines because of my foot lol
I got ccm jetspeeds. I'm a 8.5 in my Ccm and it hurts so much in my skates and can only wear it if it's very loose. I want to buy Bauer X500 LE so schould I get a size 10?
Taking the sole out was a genius idea idk how I didn't think of that...after seeing this video i literally had to get a full 1.5 sizes down from the skates I bought. I'm returning them as we speak
I’ve had the vapor xxx’s for several seasons and think it’s time for a new pair. I wear a 9.5 size shoe and the skates are a size 8. I went to a store and tried on a size a pair of 6.5 and they said those are size you want. Had to test them out and hurt my feet. Need some pointers
I have the vapor x400 skates and I don't have a narrow foot. Since vapors are meant for narrow feet. If you go to an E skate will that change the with of the skate
Could You put a link in this video description to that mentioned video over high - low arches please ? It is hard to find it on your channel with so many videos.
@@ice.warehouse thanks ! Great tutorials. Thanks to them i bought skates online, fitted them like you showed, they were good. I baked them and they are a second skin now. My first bakeable skates. Greetings.
I wear .5 bigger because I don't like that bounded feel of tight skates and I like extra footbed for some stability. I use thicker work socks to make the bigger skate feel secure.
Hey Chase ! I just received my pair of CCM Ribcor 48Ks in 9.5D. The length is perfect, but when I tie them up super tight, I've got a couple of painful pressure points halfway through the midfoot and the heel. Since the toe box and the forefoot feel super good width wise and I've got a relatively narrow foot, I didn't want to go with a EE, but I'm afraid those two pressure points could cause me discomfort in the future. Do you think baking the skates will diminish the pressure and the pain ? Since it's a brand new skate and still pretty stiff, I'm sure it should do but I'd like to be sure before I bake them, just so I can send them back in case. Your help would be greatly appreciated !
Ice Warehouse Hey Chase! Thanks for the reply. It's on both side of each foot, right on the bone behind the midfoot, and same place on the other side. Volume wise, I did the pencil test and it's all good. I just need to be sure I'll be able to make them wider with the baking, and since I've never played CCM before, I don't know how well they adapt to the baking.
